Timken colors? I assume the seat color choice for that reserved section is for the gold jackets of the inductees.

Multi-colored seats always remind me of Mosaic Stadium in Saskatchewan:

Do you like the color? You should make another post about it. I have never seen so much complaining about trivial matters. My butt goes in the seat just the same, no matter the color.

23,000.
The press box and outer part of the stadium are a copperish color. The green will not be visible.

The gold seats are the club level seating. They are cushioned. They are also the ones DaveDawg mentioned earlier concerning McKinley season tickets. They are available for Bulldog games at a small premium and include elevator access.

Any word on a scoreboard? You can't see the edges of the field from the webcam so curious if one is/has been constructed. Haven't seen photos of any being built.
Usually those things take a few weeks to build and that's your typical HS scoreboard. If one won't be ready, will they just bring in temp. video screens that will double as scoreboards for the HOF game??

Temporary scoreboard this year. The permanent one will be attached to a building that is yet to be built.

Word on the street is they're 3-4 months behind and most of the press box will not be usable for the game.

A month yes. 3 or 4 months No. But most of it will be usable for the HOF week.

The funny thing is they have been saying for the last 6 months it will be done on time (what they have to say), when in reality if you have been following the progress you knew it would be pushing it. Better hope they can pull some magic in the next week.

McKinley band, football team ‘break in’ new Benson Stadium
Quote:
Pro Football Hall of Fame President David Baker extended an invitation to the school district to “break in” the field. He spoke with band members on Monday after they finished posing for a photo and told them the stadium cost close to $150 million and is “the finest home of any high school in the world.”
Baker asked the students to remember three C’s when they use the stadium: To keep it clean and safe, to be classy, and to be competitive. He told the younger students they would have the responsibility of teaching incoming freshmen how to treat the stadium with respect.
“This is your house,” he said.

I expect nothing less from that snake oil salesman, David Baker. He's very good at scheming grand plans without a care for the logistics. Never in a million years would I invest in something where that crook is in charge.
It is a very good thing the city did not (could not) invest much money into this development.

And by the way for those of you thinking colors to the stadium are trivial.
(Its going to be a very nice venue to watch a game. ) There is NOTHING visually Canton McKinley about it. (Yet? Maybe? IDK?)
A statue of Tom Benson going in though.

Stadium looks great. Maybe Kent State or Akron could come play there every once in a while. The color schemes look about right.

That wouldn't make much sense for either team.

I think the Stagg Bowl will be a solid success.
If Kent ever needed a temporary home stadium I'm sure they could play there.

It's not McKinley's stadium no matter what the politics and PR demand people say. It's a shared facility. If McKinley wants to make it more its own for games maybe they can purchase red seat covers.
The Benson statue is so dumb. I wouldn't feel bad if it were vandalized and taken down.

The entire idea of a statue for him just seems ridiculous. Michael Jordan, Honus Wagner, even Jim Thome... I get that. But the biggest thing Tom Benson did for Canton is sign a check. Yeah, they'll name a stadium after you for doing that (college football stadiums around the country are proof of that). But, a statue? Really?

For a project of this scale with a compact timeline, I'm good with that.
When I think about it, what's really required for a spectator to watch a football game are three basic things: seats, working toilets, and concessions (and if the concession workers know what they're doing, that would be a nice bonus). Pretty much what you get at any HS field. Also, for the media, what they need available are: electricity, networking capabilities, and surfaces to work on. Come next Thursday night if all these are in place then it's a minor/mid-major success.
Anybody who expected all the bells and whistles and minor details to be 100% complete probably have no experience with the effect one minor hiccup can have on a tight construction project timeline (material delivery, labor, weather, etc.)
