Well, there's a pretty substantial lack of talent at running back too.

I'm just not a Crowell fan. He shows flashes, but I think there's a reason he went undrafted. I can think of maybe a handful of teams whose RB1 I wouldn't take over Crowell. I'd like to see Johnson get some more reps, but they've resigned him to being a backup/third down back. Who knows what they have in Dayes.

All that being said, they should average more than 3.6 per carry, even with Crowell.

History seems to show that, even when hoarding future draft picks, teams that steadily improve seem to level off just above mediocre. They believe that we have to suck while assembling a team from the hash marks outward to the sidelines. Haslam has been sold on the approach, we've begun it, so like it or not it has to be seen through. Can't reboot again.

I have to believe that they are saving Duke. If Hurri- was still alive he'd be going nuts over the lack of carries for the most productive 'Cane

Most teams steadily improve before breaking out. See Atlanta, Seattle, Carolina, KC, etc.

The receivers on this team are an embarrassment to football, and Kenny Britt should still not have a job

Cleveland's offensive line is pretty good, doesn't help when the defense is crowding the box daring the Browns to pass.

Maybe they should let Hogan QB, Kizer has that deer in headlight vibe; definitely not seeing the entire field; and his receivers aren't helping.

Browns had their first lead of the season but it didn't last long. Losing 10-7 now.

I don't see how you lose to Josh McCown at home unless you're trying to.

Now 15-54 since Sashi Brown entered the building in 2013. If you subtract games started by Brian Hoyer, who the front office began scheming to get rid of the moment he showed a spark of competence, it's 5-48. This is basically the fifth straight year that the Browns have been, at their rotten core, a 1-2 win team. That's either indicative of a overwhelming culture of losing that infects every aspect of the organization, or it's by design. Either way, it's not going to get better anytime soon.

Wow. Just when you think it can't get worse.

As has been mentioned, you can't start over yet again, but damn. To think they could have had experienced proven professionals in the front office...

Haslam is just stealing everybody's money. This team moved below being a waste of time a few years ago.

Kevin Hogan to get the start this Sunday. Half of the same sports radio hacks that said Hue should be coaching like he needs wins to keep his job are now faulting him for benching Kizer. The same morons that said we had to see if Kizer was "the guy" are now faulting him for ruining Kizer. Morons.

Aside from getting away from the run, I just can't fault Hue Jackson for the results with the roster Sashi decimated.

Poor Hue. After the Browns fire him, Iím sure Marvin will bring him back.

I don't think the Browns' primary shortcomings are on the coaching side. It has been all ownership and front office failure since the start of this mess in 1999. Until they get some decent experienced football people in the front office, they will just continue to repeat this cycle.

Curious to see how Kizer and Hogan respond. Hogan was liked by many when he came out of Stanford, with some putting him ahead of Cody "you'll have to trust me on this one" Kessler. I don't think he's a long term answer, but the team plays better behind him right now. I'm not sure that getting killed under center is any better than holding a clipboard and taking it all in right now for Kizer.

The ideal scenario for Kizer would have been to watch McCown behind an established O-line.

Sashi talked Haslam into letting him tear it down. To the bones. No one should be shocked at how bad this is. No one.

Agreed. I also get it is a process and we have to wait for things to play out with picks. I just don't have much faith yet in their ability to use the picks wisely.

I'd be happy to see Peyton Manning and a few scouting friends start sliding into the front office, if the rumors are accurate. The Browns certainly have the money to create a few new positions, because they are not spending it on talent. Sashi must have had some other inherent value to have been given the job with no real experience, and I'd like to see Hue get a real shot, but I want to see a football guy with the last word on player selection. This approach seems to be the only way to change things without blowing the whole thing up yet again.

If Jimmy blows it up again, the owners should force him to sell. A clear display of incompetence.

So many idiot hacks in local sports media have begun the drumbeat of "Is Hue coaching for his job?!?", because they don't have the talent or subject matter to sustain a real conversation. They want to stir up a bunch of passionate callers, because that's all that a hack can do.
