I've seen a few blurbs on Twitter about that. It also seems like there's some smoke about Al Washington, Michigan's LB coach, possibly coming as well. At this point it's looking like a major shakeup is coming to the defensive staff.

So many questions about Fields. Did Coach Smart of UGA give Fields a shot at beating out Jake Fromm? I think Jake Fromm is good but not great. How much do the coaches pick the minds of these transfers? Did LSU go over OSU's playbook with Burrrows and incorporate anything into their playbook? Will coach Day and his staff be able to gain some useful info from Fields? Still a big get for OSU and Coach Day. Hopefully Doug Nester signs and the 2019 incoming class is looking very good.

What a weird day. Haskins to the NFL, Mattison goes from possibly retiring from Michigan to taking co-D coordinator job at OSU, Jeff Hafley (spelling?) is the other co-D coordinator from DB coach with the 49ers, Larry Johnson is now dline coach and associate head coach.

Seems like a good move. Hafley is only 39 and can learn under Mattison for a season or two and take over.

Number 1 is money probably doubled his salary, no.2 he coached under Meyer at Fla., no.3 I don't think Harbaugh is an easy guy to work under, no.4 supposedly and this is just something I read on an OSU forum, Harbaugh went nuts a couple of weeks ago in the locker room, ripping the players who decided to skip the Wolverines bowl game.

Harbaugh needs to go to the Jets. He'd be perfect there

Rumor is Washington has accepted the OSU job. Bigger blow to Michigan than Mattison.

I'd look for OSU to run the table next year and be in the playoffs.

Super easy OOC schedule with UC, Miami (OH), FAU. They get to play MSU, Wisconsin, and Penn St all at home. Only tough road game is Michigan.

If they just don't have a faceplant against an Iowa/Purdue team the schedule shapes up well for them.

According to Eleven Warriors, Washington has accepted an offer to coach at OSU.

Of all the moves that have been happening this week, this is the most exciting one, IMO. Also read that Washington was Michigan's best Ohio recruiter.

I wonder if Zach Harrison who was a heavy lean to UM got wind of this and that is why he ended up at OSU.

Supposedly OSU is still after Corey Raymond DB coach for LSU. I would be surprised if Raymond left as he graduated from LSU.

I think their success has hurt MSU, Purdue, Illinois etc. The schools who typically try to recruit OSU rejects.

They have done well selling the idea of playing in the SEC and only being a few hrs away.

Penn State and Michigan in back to back weeks could be tricky.

I would be very surprised if OSU went undefeated next season especially replacing 4 starters on the offenseive line.

Don't forget they go to Nebraska and Northwestern. The trip to Evanston is going to be interesting.

Yes Nebraska is a juggernaut at home.

My point was for a 1st yr HC and QB they got a manageable schedule. This is like the only year OSU doesnt have a marquee OOC game and 3 of their 4 biggest games are at home. It certainly won't be given to them and they can't take any team lightly but I think they have a great shot to be undefeated at years end.

Road schedule is Indiana, NW, Rutgers, Nebraska, and Michigan. No p5 OOC game. I would consider that to be ideal for Day/Martell/Fields to walk into.

The crossover game with Wisconsin makes it more difficult but at least they don't have to go to Camp Randall.

It seems a given that tOSU is assured to vastly under perform in one B1G game. My guess in 2019 it will be at Northwestern since it is a Friday evening in Evanston which will throw off the Buckeyes weekly rhythm. That Nebraska game will be tricky too as the Huskers should be 4-0 heading into that one and Scott Frost will frame it to the team as the program changing game.

Day is putting together a magnificent staff. I'm expected big things from this team in the near future (though I am willing to give some slack for 2019 as a transition season).

SUBUrban Meyer stepping down is the best thing that could have happened to this program. He became too loyal to certain players and coaches and was married to the same schemes he'd been running since Tebow-Harvin. All the recruiting talent in the world wouldn't keep him from getting in his own way!

Have you been drinking Max. Meyers record at OSU in 7 years was 83 - 9 and I think he only lost 4 regular season BIG games in that period. I hope Ryan Day succeeds but I would not be surprised at this time next year if posters are complaining about Day and wishing Meyer had never resigned.

Ohio State should never win fewer than 10 games playing in the Big Ten, period. There are no programs on its level and haven't been since Carr left Michigan. So forgive me if I am not impressed with Meyer's record, which includes getting embarrassed by Iowa and Purdue and nearly losing several other games they should have won by 30!

I get it. People are afraid to admit Meyer had lost his edge, so they use his record as a buffer against the arguments.
