Didn't Bellefontaine lose most everybody? Lyburtus was an absolute stud, without him, I would be really impressed if they are better than they were last year.

I don’t think they’ll be better talent wise than last year but I believe if they can get past wapak they have a legitimate shot at going 10-0.They still have a lot of talent this year and a few holes they’ll need to address but if they can get the Qb spot figured out I think they will have another great year. The talent that’s the senior classes have had this last year over the next 2 years for them is something that Bellefontaine hasn’t had in a while.

they also have a special running back returning that only carried the ball the second half of the season and hit 1,000 yards while getting 10-15 carries a game being the 2nd option behind lyburtus. I expect nothing less than for him to have 1,500+ yards this year. If you watched the tri valley game than you know why I think he’ll be very good

What in the world has Fenwick and McNicholas done to deserve "others"??

Pledged allegiance to the Pope, I think.

McNick improved paradise by putting in lights and a new sound system. Playing on Friday nights with obnoxious sound effects always makes a team play better.

Fenwick hired a young spread guy to implement Bomber Light.

Hopefully both teams make great improvements. A rising tide lifts all boats. Like seeing the fan enthusiasm and optimism.

Yeah, they will just be ok. Region 11 will be Desales vs Hartley. Hopefully their brutal schedule keeps them out of the playoffs

Looks like Trotwood has a big test early on in the first 3 weeks. I don't have a clue about the strength of Simeon, but opening with Winton Woods and then Pick Central in week 3...wow.

McNick is loaded. Several Moeller and X transfers. No not really. I assume they'll be ok not sure where those votes come from.

That posted poll looks about right...with a couple of "wait and see's". I have no doubt the parochial's will represent. Bellefontaine, and Canfield have lost a good chunk of their squads to graduation so I'm curious to see how they reload. New Philadelphia and Aurora are both loaded with up and coming talent that gained valuable experience last season so I look for them to make some noise. If NP can get the young guys up front to give the athletes they have time and creases to make plays then the sky's the limit for the next two years for the Quakers.

CB has really taken some meat out of D3, left it very top heavy. There are likely to be some very clear paths to the state semis in some of these regions once the playoffs start.

That sky has a very low ceiling. They won’t get past the second round of the playoffs. They never do.

Seems to me they made it to the regional finals just two seasons ago. Lost to the eventual state champ Hoban. If you're right come November then I'll give you props.

Great opening game for the 2018 season--Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary at Massillon Washington at PBTS. Good attendance is anticipated.

If only NP and Dover had 70,000+ students (give or take a few) to draw from. #homegrown

Then they'd be competing for students and athletes the same way every urban school has to in order to survive.

Oh please. Apples/oranges. Point completely missed. I just have a hard time with arrogance and disrespect when it comes to private vs. public. I'm not going to bad mouth your program or bring up CB numbers and the like. We just don't have the consistent pool of talent and numbers like the "urban schools". Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Yet you'll argue and debate this point. Recent history (the past 20-30 years) shows it generally takes a very special public to win it all in nearly every division.

How do you explain the lack of success of the "urban" privates in Cincy i.e Bacon and Purcell?

I would have to say coaching/program plays a pretty significant role. I can see it being tough in an area like Cincy that has so many historically successful programs for schools without the football pedigree to draw the top athletes with consistency. I have to admit if our family was in a urban area and had the option to choose from a couple/several top notch private schools (educationally and athletically) coaching would be a huge determining factor for sure in making that choice.

Yes you are correct. I kind of knew the answer but just threw the question out there. I would say Moeller, St X are the biggest reasons. Also hurts McNicholas. Aithough their demographic is different they are located within the city limits but have very good public schools within 2-3 miles (Anderson, Turpin) and of course ST X, Moe and to some extent Elder.

Padua is doing a great job this offseason. Having players text student athletes from other schools to keep their coaches smelling clean in genius. Keep up the good work!
