Nothing hypocritical about the statement. They are not judging her; they are just saying she won't be missed. They could have said that she is now burning in the fires of Hell, but they were being kind.

Maybe the mom getting knocked up thing was part of a ménage ŕ trois.

One has to wonder how the children know about the whole affair?

He's probably dreading what his obituary will say when his time comes.

This reminded me of a high school classmate who grew up down the street from me. Friendly, very pretty, well-liked - but psychologically abused from her parents who she later told us never showed any warmth or love to their children. She basically let loose in her on-line "eulogy" when they passed away.

You never know how hard someone has it growing up until you read these things.

They obviously never came to grips with being abandoned by their mother. Her parents may have "done the right thing", but it's quite possible that her parents displayed resentment for her decision to ditch her kids and reinforced such feelings for years. They are obviously emotionally damaged to feel the need to take a shot at her in death. They are kicking a corpse.

Reminds me of a lawyer who said often people who don't forgive the one who wrongs them in life will allow bitterness to destroy much more of them than the original wrong against them ever did.

At 58 it's time to forgive and move on.
