2018 WBL predictions

Any predictions on who wins this conference this year. I’ve got st Mary’s and I don’t think it’ll be very hard for them to win it this year. They got talent in the right spots and they have a good senior class.

Fry has the Roughriders back on top. Wapak messed up big time by running Fry off.

At this point I'd probably say St Marys is the early favorite. However, I'm not to familiar with what everyone returns. O-G is always strong and they had a massive amount of injuries last year. Wapak should be in the mix. Shawnee under Jerry Cooper should improve though how much remains to be seen.

Obliviously losing Frye is starting to take its affect on them. They are also hitting a stretch where they don’t have a lot of talent. When Moyer first got there they were loaded and won A lot of games. I think Moyer is a good coach just doesn’t have the players to be successful

St. Marys on top until proven otherwise. I'd expect O-G to bounce back. Elida, Wapak, and Celina rounding out the top 5.

Last years WBL records

9-0 St. Marys
7-2 Elida
7-2 Celina
6-3 Wapak
5-4 Kenton
4-5 Van Wert
3-6 Shawnee
3-6 Ottawa-Glandorf
1-8 Defiance
0-9 Bath

Haven't lived in NW Ohio in 14 years but man when did Bath and Defiance go down hill? I remember Defiance back in the 90s was legit and Bath was no slouch either.

Hopefully Defiance can get to .500 this season.

Frye did that to himself. Wapak did what it had to do.

Fry did what he had to do to build a successful football team, as he is doing in St. Marys. Wapak knew what kind of coach they were hiring when they hired Fry or should have. Once he rebuilt the program they jettisoned him, hoping a new coach would be more politically correct and keep the program at a level Fry had built it to, we will see if he can or not.

I take back what I said. Apparently this was Frye’s decision, and there was no ‘jettisoning’ involved...

I think st Mary’s has a legit shot at state this year in D4. If not state then a very deep playoff run

That might have been what was publically said to make both sides happy.

I agree. Always thought it would be cool if the MAC and WBL would play each other the 1st game of the season.

I ike them. Back in the 90's I traveled a lot with my job and I picked teams in each area to follow. To this day I still try and follow those teams and when possible watch them.
