Girls with 4 individual regional titles?

Hope Purcell, of Lancaster, won all 4 of her individual events in the central region this week (HJ, LJ, 100H, 300H).

Looking through the central region results, I do not see that any other female has done this since at least 2001.

Question 1: Do any of you know of other female athletes that have 4 regional wins from other regions?

Question 2: Does anyone have an easy way to access regional results prior to 2001?

Question 3: Did I miss someone in the central who has accomplished this feat?

To be clear, I'm only looking for individual wins--not counting relays. Thanks in advance for any help!

How about a girl who won the same event all four years? Danielle Pfeifer of McAuley, 800m.

A quick one that comes to mind, if my memory serves me from the past is Trotwood-Madison's 1992 Olympic 100mH silver medalist, LaVonna Martin. 100mH/100m/300mH/200m Dayton AAA Regional title in 1984. She won the state title that year by herself with a 38 point performance at state.

Ursuline Academy's Carrie Groth preceded Ms. Pfeifer. 800m - 1989-92

Thank you! I would say that is a very tough set of doubles with the 100h/100 back to back and then the 300h/200 so close together.

Sarah DeWolfe maybe in 1996 to 1998 timeframe. She scored 38 points at state in 1996.

Back in '02 - '05 Cachet Murray of Girard was dominant. I believe she won the state in the 100 and 200 all 4 years. For good measure, she added the long jump and won all 3 for her last 2 years, if I recall correctly. I would have to think she would have been a low 50's 400 meter runner had she done it. I know it's not 4, but it was impressive. This past Saturday, Mia Knight of Beachwood also won the 100 and 200 at the Regional and broke Murray's records while doing so. Anchored a pretty strong 4x100 too.

The winner of the D-III long jump in 1996 was Lea Barrera of Sherwood Fairview. She also placed second in the 100 and fourth in the 200 that year. Barrera would have been in the same Region as DeWolfe, which I believe was held at Fostoria that year. So it's not a given that Sarah would have won all four events.

FWIW, Ayersville and Fairview are also in the same conference.

It is hard to say without knowing the results that year. The record for their conference meet is still 17'6" and neither athlete jumped further than 18'1" at regionals because the regional meet record was not broken that year.

Brittany Cheese of Hilliard Davidson was SO close. She finished 3rd in the 100H as a freshman then went on to win 3 straight in the 100H to end her career.

Baumspage.com archive goes back to 2003. Before that you need a medicine man and to sacrifice a distance runner.
