25-Year-Old Arrested After Posing As A 17-Year-Old To Play High School Basketball

I wonder how often this really happens and the player doesn't get caught...

Quote:
A 25-year-old Dallas man was arrested last week after masquerading as a 17-year-old Hurricane Harvey refugee to play for a high school basketball team, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Sidney Bouvier Gilstrap-Portley enrolled at Skyline High School under the name of "Rashun Richardson," the newspaper reported, before transferring to Hillcrest High School, where he joined the basketball team. Gilstrap-Portley was arrested Friday night on one charge of tampering with government records, according to multiple reports.

Not as bad as the Spanish Special Olympic basketball team who won the gold medal and then were caught. Turned out that only two of the 12 players had any disabilities.

USA70PP is an unknown quantity at this point
Could it be the Spanish players were cited for mental disabilities because they were also matadors?

This means nothing. Growth happens to kids at different ages. I know of a kid in Summit County who was the biggest and best athlete in the eighth grade. He never got any bigger, the other boys passed him up in high school. He ended up junior & senior years being the kicker for the FB team rather than the Mr. Everything he was in 8-10 grades. He was done growing. He ended up being the kicker at a mediocre D3 school in college. He was in my son's class through 8th grade. Nice kid, flustered though because his growth spurt was before and over the other guys in his grade level.

Obviously growth happens at different ages but take your word that it "means nothing." I hadn't heard of such drastic early growth in an otherwise normal male but again, take your word for it.

I have seen kids stop growing after 8th grade.. it’s not common but it happens. But kids born in different countries can come over here and be whatever age they want because no birth certificate
