I wonder about the wisdom of that. Egos on camera seem as though they can get extra stupid sometimes.

I like it for Mayfield, though.....maybe. He sounds as if the brighter the spotlight the more determined he is to succeed.

A report that the Browns tried to trade the #35 pick for Nick Foles-

Should have traded #1. Rather have Foles than Midget Mayfield.

Agree, though the overall #1 was far too steep for Foles...I believe it was wasted on Mayfield, but only time will tell. So by that rationale, I would have traded the #1 for Foles.

Guys - if being two inches shorter was really a make-or-break, you'd both be totally alone in this world.....

Seriously, though, give it a chance.

A fine example of the destructive hack sports media is airing in hourly sports updates on the official Browns radio station.

"In OTAs today, Baker Mayfield is still getting third team reps...."

This is exactly what they told us would happen. These people are fools. Philly did this with Wentz. Did their media hacks at least wait for the pre-season ?

Interesting article about the pi$$ing contest between Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio and the NFL Network's Michael Silver over the purported Foles to Cleveland trade talk. I particularly like where Silver tells Florio "Hey Mike: 1) Don't be a dick". LOL.

For me I don't have a preconceived notion about the QBs ... I want to see it playout .... while I tend to lean toward the cautious side with Mayfield ... he is an older more 'experienced' college QB so I would not 100% rule out him playing early, but only if I was 150% sure he could handle all parts of being an NFL QB ... also IF he was completely ready & someone was willing to give the Browns a Sam Bradford to the Vikings like trade for Taylor ... I would have to at least consider it ... I would prefer that Taylor play the first half the of season ... but that is not set in stone with me. There are some other situations that would also factor into my decision at QB ... how is the running game fairing, how is the defense playing, Drew Stanton ... I would need each of these to be going well before I would play Mayfield.

It's going to be a crowded backfield. Maybe Haley can implement the wishbone!

If the Cavs get swept would Lebron have earned his stripe if he played for the Browns?

I like how Baker isn't against sitting a year.

He better not be against it, because he is sitting a year...unless TT is injured. With a competent veteran QB at the helm...finally...the Browns should look like an NFL team this year, and not a completely overmatched group.

I think a lot of today's athletes would be against it. He is probably more of a team player than most outsiders think.

What you say publicly and your true feelings might not be the same thing ... Baker wants to play, and he should ... but he should rock the boat with words ... just go out and let your actions speak for you ... my bet is he plays this year, might not be at the start, but it will be before the year is over ... the last QB 1st round pick to sit the entire year ... Aaron Rodgers ... and that was behind Brett Favre ... Taylor is not Favre ... and this is not Green Bay.

Sounds like he has learned his place and is ready to work for something. Again, this young man is far different than Boyziel.

Saw video of Mayfield returning fire with Cowherd today. Good stuff. I guess it could be interpreted as him being a d***, but I kind of liked his spunk.

Cowherd looks a bit "small" here complaining about the 4th TD celebration of that day, and then desperate to remain superior in his comments on the sidewalk tackle. I like it. CC is a perfect LA tool.

My brother asked me this question yesterday ... it made me think

Knowing what you know now, which pair would you rather have ...
A) Miles Garrett & Baker Mayfield or B) Mitch Trubisky & Bradley Chubb?

for me it was not hard ... I would take B ... think both are going to be better than their counter parts.

Which would be your pick?

Well, since two of those players have yet to play a single down in the NFL, let me ask for a question, knowing what you know now: Who would you rather have...Myles Garrett or Mitch Trubisky?

If I knew I could get Chubb this year ... I would have taken Trubisky last year.

I think Garrett is a highlight player ... he makes a couple highlights plays a game then disappears for the rest of the game ... Chubb might not have the physical talent of Garrett, but plays hard nearly every play ... I prefer that.

PS - Am I not allowed to have an opinion on players until the have played in the NFL?

Well if any organization ever finds out a way to predict the future then god help the rest of the league! It'd ruin the internet though because we wouldn't be able to list all the players selected in front of "name the player" when they become a star.
