What's the Furthest You Have Driven in One Day?

The special folks from SWO are up in arms that Canton has been awarded the state football finals again. The common argument is "that's too far for people in SWO to drive".

So it made me wonder - how far have people driven in one day?

I drove from Massillon to Dallas two years ago. And twice in college from Ohio to Florida (Lauderdale and Miami).

Myself and a friend went from Santa Cruz to St Henry in a little less than 33.5 hours. One guy would get snacks and water the other guy pumped gas, switched drivers every tank. Had to change one flat tire, luckily it was at a gas station because I had the wrong lug wrench... I remember brushing my teeth and trying to spit out the window going 90 through Nebraska. Averaged over 70 mph.

Drove to Florida (panhandle) and South Carolina in college. Longest since college was Knoxville and Louisville from NEO for Ohio football. Drove to UC this season. Six hours on 71 is not that bad.

You can cut significant time if you disregard speeding laws. Did you know the first speeding ticket ever was issued in Dayton? NEO>SWO

Solo: Dayton to Little Rock, Arkansas (650-700 miles).

With more than one driver (college days): Dayton to Sanibel Island, Florida (approx. 1100 miles).

Athens, Ohio to Ft. Lauderdale - 1060 miles.

It's pretty funny too that no one cares as much about the dumb state finals location than the Stark County Boob Squad does.

Another little brotheresque comment. Kind of massillonesque if you ask me, living vicariously through others. Neo is one special place

They cant even beat a d2 school after consolidating another school. Embarassing.

Heck, the once proud Tigers lost a D2 Title to a D3 team that was moved up. That had to suck.

1100 miles - Longboat Key FL (near Sarasota) to Columbus OH

16 hours straight thru at the speed limit. Back in the day the wife and I would take 18-19 hours with the pit stops.

Couple buddies of mine have driven straight through from Columbus to San Diego a couple o times when they were young and single. They'd leave Columbus at 6 AM on a Monday, and hit the NV-CA border Tuesday evening.

Drove from NEO to Boston several times. Not all that far but it feels like you are never leaving PA again.

Used to drive 650 mile round trip in a day to steelers games for years until we started to spend a night.

Western Ohio to Virginia Beach was around 700 miles.

1,200 miles from Cincinnati to Mandan, ND. Then onto Glacier NP the next day.

Have driven from Cincinnati to Minneapolis probably thirty times now. It's really not that bad of a drive; worst part is driving through rural Illinois which never seems to end.

Iíve made both those drives, to Glacier/Yellowstone (in a rented airstream) and to Minneapolis, but canít imagine doing either in one sitting/or alone.

Coming back from Panama City Beach on our way to Cincinnati with some college friends. We got out the door at 9 am and were expecting a 12-hour trip with stops.

Soon as we get on the highway I start to doze in the backseat. I wake up a few hours later and to my surprise, we're still in Florida. What??? For whatever reason, my friend's car GPS sent us due west to Mobile rather than due north where we were supposed to go. He had no idea the route was off. We get back on track and it's 11-something PM when I get dropped off in Cincinnati with my other friend. The driver ends up going another ~3 hours to Toledo that night.
