St Eds AA Streak

I believe St Eds AA streak in NCAA D1 is 28 years as of last March. I was wondering if there was an Eds wrestler that is likely to continue the streak this year? I found this in Flo from last March:

"The question is how long can this incredible streak continue? All four St. Ed's wrestlers in this year's field are seniors. Next year, the streak will fall upon LJ Bentley (Pitt), Allan Hart (Missouri), Hunter Ladnier (Harvard), and incoming freshman Cody Howard (Virginia Tech)."

Looking at the NCAA Coaches Ranking released yesterday, here's how that group looks now:
141 Bentley #28
133 Hart - not starting
157 Ladnier NR
197 Cody Howard - RS

It looks like it will be up to Bentley or Ladnier to keep the streak going. Both seem to be in a decent position to qualify but will face uphill battles to AA. I don't know if Flo missed anyone. Perhaps some will have better insight. I'd like to see the streak kept alive. The annual update was always a testament to the great program that Eds has.

BTW, the great Alan Fried started the current streak with a runner-up finish in 1991 at 134.

Domenic Abounader of Michigan took a 5th at 184 to advance the streak last March.

Five programs can boast a D-I NCAA All-American each of the past 28 years. St. Eds is one. Who are the other four?

? Ohio has only had five schools with an NCAAA DI AA?
Or are there four others with a 28 yr streak... which can't be correct?
Did you word this correctly or am I just reading it wrong?

I did word it correctly. I guess I could have said “Five wrestling programs...”

The confusion may come from the fact that the other four are D-I UNIVERSITES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think OKST & MINN are two of them.

No. It is 4 D-I NCAA programs and 1 HS program. That there is a HS program involved in this discussion is INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Imma look this up...

Minnesota is one- 1985 was the last year w/o one
Okie State has had an AA every year forever I think (might actually be 1945)
Cornell has a streak of 18 exactly
Iowa has an AA since 1971

Just missed:
Penn State has 17 straight years (no AAs in 2001)
Ohio State would be except for 2005

One more time for the people in the back... ST. EDS IS A HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM AND HAS A STREAK OF D-I NCAA ALL-AMERICANS OF 28 YEARS!!!!!!! A HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM!!!!!!

And I can see MINN, IOWA, OKST, and Cornell being the other TEAMS. I do believe that’s correct.

Again, though - STEDS!!!!!!!

4. Cornell

..."being the other three????" I can't take any more. You win.

Not Cornell. They missed in 2000 and several other years in the 1990s.

Crap, I read 18 years and not 28.

- Michigan has only missed one year in the last 28 (2010- Kellen Russell redshirted, or else their streak probably would have survived).
- Same with Wisconsin, except they missed 2004
- Illinois JUST missed; no AAs in 1992 (streak is 26)

FOUND IT!- Nebraska is the fourth team. Last year with no AA was 1988.

So Iowa, Okie St, Minny, and Nebraska. Gotta think all four teams extend their streaks this year too
