8th Grade kids only hope??

That sophmore group is pretty good, the freshman are going to struggle, and take the top 6 off the 8th grade and put them together. That is a good team! Keep working kids you have the tools.

So here's the dilemma...do you split up the 8th grade team next year as there are a couple kids that definitely should start JV, and probably 1 or 2 that could see some Varsity time...OR...do you take the Top 6 and put them all on JV so they can continue to play together...

I would get Ricker and Slone as much upper level experience as possible and wouldn't even mess with Freshman ball for those 2 guys...

I think you are trying to kid yourself into thinking your boy is ready to play up. He will dress with varsity next year and maybe get his head taken off in the fourth qrt by a jv player.

Size and strength are definitely an issue...both boys need to put on 20-25lbs. in a perfect world...but have you seen these boys play or are you basing your comment on generalities?

And I have no doubt they will get their heads taken off a time or two...then they'll both get up and hit 80% of their foul shots...

No one is saying 2 Freshman out of Cuyahoga Falls are going to lead the state in scoring, but if you are trying to rebuild a program and you have some younger talent that can hang with the "big boys"...why not let them take their lumps and get some valuable experience?

Slone and Ricker

These two boys do more individually than any other kid in the program. They play hard and are natural leaders. There is no doubt in my mind these two will start JV and most likely see 10-16 minutes a game on the varsity level because exculding Devon Speicher, Tim Bridenthal, Cory Asbury, and depending on which Drew Gardner shows up they are better than all of the other kids. They can compete and will compete with those kids coming tryouts. Give them one more summer to get better they might be a 6th or 7th man role because they are hungary to do whatever they have to do to bring falls a state championship. thats the real thing behind it all is winning a chamionship, and you play the top 8 players to do it and unless 5 studs move in they are there in my book.
