Freshman Black Tiger Football 2008

This year had some high hopes more so than the past couple of years.. being a fan and dad I was hoping to see that what had happened the past two years at the youth levels including merging in with the kids from the middle school level would be a great thing. Most of the kids from the middle school level had played at some point at the youth level as well. But this year was dissapointing, and I think that we as the adults involved with their playing careers during their career should have talked with the high school level and vice versa on what was coming up to the high school level to benefit the program. What kids would be a better fit at certain expectation levels. But no one did that and the result was certain kids playing out of their normal positions or not having the right mix at critical points of games. Yes we did have a decent year but watching and listening to the kids this year.. it's dissapointing to hear they are losing interest right away after their freshman year. No matter what youth program the kids come from.. if we do not communicate with each other no one benefits. Any suggestions or ideas about this would be greatly appreciated!

Bigticket,
I think it probably would be helpful to the palyers and the coaches if you, as parents, go see the coach and see what you all can do to make 1 program. The youth program, the junior high, the freshmen, and up to the high school should all be doing the same things. If there is continuity then the players won't get discouraged so early. There should be liasons between the grades and categories of players, especially if certain people know where these players played. Success breeds goodness, but the hardest part is getting to consistency of success.

excellent response.... hope we could do this .. but we have had three coaches in the last four years now at the high school. I just hope that the High School can keep not just the freshman but all of the kids motivated through yet another tough off season.. thanks for the response beast

Big,
I do not think this guy is going anywhere too soon. He is a Black Tiger and will be there for as long as you all will have him.

Coach Miller can and should stay as long as he wants.. we have noticed a change thus far and do not expect a miracle .. the j.v. squad will be ready for the 09 year and also the Varsity will upgrade as well. But it will take a total team concept to help him out.
