New McKinley Coach Apllications

https://fridaynightohio.com/news/152...ootball-coach/

Canton McKinley is D1 and plays in the state of the art Tom Benson Hall Of Fame Stadium

The Bulldogs are nationally recognized and have the most wins of any D1 school in Ohio, including Stark County's only big school state championships in foootball: 3

Ex-Bulldog quarterback Josh McDaniels is the Offensive Co-ordinator of the New England Patriots

The Bulldogs are loaded this coming year with size, speed, talent, experience, and a great staff.

Bulldogs went 9-3 last year, advancing to the State's toughest region's second round.

Brand new state of the art 4,000 sq. ft. NFL grade weight room and lockeroom have been agreed upon and will be finalized soon. It is to be built next to the Natatorium and is specifically being built for McKinley and CCS at a projected cost of$4.7 million

Sorry JJ but this has the smell of somebody from the current staff job to lose. Maybe they already have somebody from the outside already lined up but it sure doesn't seem like it. I mean 1 week is barely enough time to talk it over with their wife.

I agree. It's possible they have someone lined up, but not very likely.

I'm a bit confused because I thought the position had to be posted internally for a minimum of two weeks and it hasn't been two weeks since Reardon resigned.

I never put much stock in that internal time frame but you make a good point. Also I believe McKinley has two? current coaches on there staff that have been head coaches before and I think there's a couple of head coaches sitting around stark county or just outside star county that are not coaching at the moment that could've of been asked.

The part in the article that concerns me is the part that reads "head coaching experience is preferred but not mandatory".

Well sir there is a difference yes but it is not a secret. Glenoak opened their job up for any applicants. Green did a targeted search where they interviewed contacted gentlemen and were able to keep their anonymity as to not interfere with the respective candidates current job status.

Maybe louisville targeted who knows - but that may explain no list.
where as McKinley will open up for applicants
its really up to the BOE how they want to process to be shaped. Will McK have a 25 person panel like they did about a decade ago? no -point being is nobody's process is right or wrong but if you open it up to applicants then yes it is subject to public records request.

there is merit to what tiger paw is saying.

I bet Porter has already sent the records request in for every name that applies.

I guess two lifelong Canton boys will be losing the positions that they've dreamed of all their life then huh?

Let me put it this way: big time game changers. One is a junior and the other a sophomore. Can't wait to see them in red and black!

I'm a McKinley fan and I find this hard to believe. Why would two "studs" from Columbus find their way to McKinley?

Couldn't agree more, why anyone would move out of Columbus to Canton is baffling and disturbing, claims are total BS

Tell that to the young man who played linebacker for McKinley two years ago who also came from Columbus. You don't live here and you don't go to the games . He replaced the kid from Glenoak, Josh Chandler when Josh went down with an injury, and worked his way into a starting spot. 5-8 205 #11

It would be very unlikely that he did, as he lives in Gates Mills and works in downtown Cleveland in his day job. All of his past coaching gigs have been in the East Side inner ring suburbs of Cleveland for the easy commute he has been known to value in the past when changing HC positions.

Anything is possible but I think Canton is too far away to be on his radar, based on his past history.

I just deleted 40 posts. Please demonstrate the ability to share thoughts without resorting to name calling, or child-like bickering about topics unrelated to the applicants for the McKinley football head coach position. Failure to do so will result in the thread being closed.

I'm confused about the ability to delete posts. I don't see you listed as a moderator and I thought that's what was needed to be able to delete posts. Are you a moderator?

Jason Hall stepped down so he could be more involved with his senior and junior high aged daughters' athletic endeavors.

I'm with you, Captain A! Really looking forward to seeing who the applicants will be and I can't wait to see our young men come charging out of the Giant Bulldog onto Ohio's finest stadium to make their mark in an illustrious history!

Go Bulldogs!

I hear the applicant pool is not good so far. With the exception of a couple names. Does it close tomorrow? 3 are known for certain - Grimsley, Whattley, and Bardawil. Anyone else hear names?

Members of Yappi have the ability to edit/delete their own posts. Moderators have the ability to edit/delete the posts of others as well as their own posts. By the way, I don't moderate posts unless if someone reports a post; and, I never moderate a McKinley thread unless if the complaint(s) come from someone who isn't a McKinley fan.
