My guess is he took over calling the shots behind the scenes in Cleveland after Hue was fired and is the reason why the Browns are one of the hottest teams in the NFL .

Ok now this is just getting silly. Isn't he probably in his 70's or 80's by now?

A few guys I'd like to see Versailles try to go after are:

Jared Owens - HC at Convoy Crestview

Kurt Forrest - HC at Mechanicsburg (I think they could get him)

Trent Temple - Former HC at Celina (I know he had some issues at the end of his tenure)

Keith Recker - HC at Van Wert (Probably not a likely candidate)

If we are all for Versailles to become a resurgence then I would mark Temple off that list.

Owens isn't leaving.

I don't think Forrest is ever leaving Mechanicsburg. A few guys from this area (Stokes and Marino) departed their alma mater for MAC land, but Forrest is much more established at this point than either of those guys were.

They both had 2-3 years of HC experience and maybe 6-7 years tops of teaching experience. Forrest has 8-9 years of HC experience at 'Burg and probably about 15 total years of teaching experience. Odds are neither of those other guys had to give up anything financially to make the move, and I don't think either had anything to uproot other than themselves. Barring a great deal, Forrest would probably be sacrificing money and I'd assume he probably would have a family to uproot.

Probably right but he did take Celina to the playoffs. Comes with too much baggage. Just throwing out Ideas.

I find it kinda funny that you would think that these guys might leave some very successful programs but you wouldn't think a guy who is a football guy , who just became a girls basketball coach wouldn't leave Coldwater to go back to a place where he went to HS, to coach football.....just saying.

also heard maybe a guy from the Washington court house might be interested in the job...

If that was his goal then A. Why did he bother to move to Coldwater and wait for a job to open up and B. Why did he take the Head GBB job in the first place if he wanted to go back to Versailles this WHOLE time?

As for a guy from Washington Court House, I haven't heard anything but I'll take your word for it.

where was he teaching before he took the job in Coldwater.....probably several reasons...maybe he didn't have the opportunity at Versailles like he did in Coldwater? maybe his wife is from Coldwater...don't know..

Kurt is a Mechanicsburg alumni. He's not leaving there for anything else. He's where he wants to be for as long as they will have him. Great coach and even better guy.

Alrighty then. Just trying to brainstorm coaches who run a balanced offense.

Thatís not surprising...my bet is a large majority are a group of guys that apply for just about every job every year and never get anything. I can remember years ago St. Wendelinís then coach applied for the Massillon job. It happens. The reality is thereís usually just a small handful of true candidates.

I was allowed to see the list of applicants for another MAC coaching job less than 10 years ago. It was a fascinating and long list.

Lance Schneider would be a good hire if they are willing to give him a second chance. His offense would fit the MAC well. Just a thought.

yeah. "Air Schneider" started with his dad at Wayne and he kept it at Northmont. All gun. Mostly one-back, but he'll use an H-back. Some tight end, but mostly not.

No idea if he would run the same stuff at Versailles.

You might say Cramer had a hand in motivating Fort Recovery to get better also.

He's got my blessing but that'll be up to Versailles. If they don't want him, I think Greenville is still open.
