The latter I recalled on my own and checked. The former I came across in an on-line episode review.

Impossible to over look the popularity of the show but I've not been impressed by the plotting, dialogue or character development since they left the books. It's clear, the show developors are simply not in the same class as the original writer, who they could use as a crutch for the first few seasons.

My biggest complaint now is the writers; attempt to interject THEIR humor into the show as opposed to that of the characters (Bronn-Jamie for example). They've also hit that part many shows hit where they are desperately trying to trump themselves; grosser, edgier and attempts for more forced social controversy, which was played big in this recent episode. These guys are just hanging on to the paycheck at this point. They don't have near even the reduced seven shows worth of material for this season, so we're seeing a lot of filler like last season.
I asked the question honestly because I thought Ned was the last to do so.

I think one reason I love Breaking Bad so much is because it was well thought out, cultivated, and had an end before it started.

I've maybe watched first season? Yeah, I'm one of those. Out of the cultural loop. But I think that last statement says a lot. Keeps a show from hanging on past it's due date.

And yeah, more people need to slap and choke Littlefinger. None of this horrible death stuff like Bolton or Joffrey. Just slapping and choking, real urge satisfying stuff. Disney could build a successful theme park around the concept.

If we were judging GOT only on it's acting & story line then I agree that it would not rate as highly as a number of other shows. But this is a fantasy series and in that vein there has never been a better one on TV. With big budget movie quality special effects and set designs I can't think of another series that can match GOT for scope and grandeur. Sure the series "Rome" played out on a huge stage but the show only ran for two seasons. Band of Brothers matched the scale of GOT but it went for only a year. GOT is now in it's 7th season and the series has gotten bigger every year.
Fair enough. Good call. It all comes down to personal preferences.

Like I said before, I'm not into deep fantasy stuff like dragons and warlocks and the sort. I started watching GOT because a couple buddies said it was good. I NEVER thought Ned Stark would die. He was the classic hero in every sense. He was GOT's Rick from The Walking Dead. No way he dies, the story must revolve around him. Nope, goner, and brutal at that.

Ok, then I recovered from Ned's stunning death and thought, ok, Rob will be the savior, and the show will steer into his story of Stark family redemption. Nope. Momma Stark? Nope.

Holy smokes, no one was safe. I could get on board with this.

But they went from being the most unpredictable show I've ever seen to uber predictable.

The further the show moved from the source material the lower the quality became. Now we're completely beyond the book series and you can tell they're just trying to finish the show.

I always knew the Ned Stark character was doomed from the start. He was played by Sean Bean, for me the only "name" character in the starting cast. If you are familiar with Mr. Bean's acting career, you would know that he always dies, usually in a very horrible way. So his beheading was not unexpected to me.

BTW, I'm guessing Ellaria will be forced to watch the Mountain brutally murder the sand snake before she meets her demise.

I hope not but you're probably right. The writers have yet to check the "gruesome death as the hands of the Mountain" box.

That would be preferable to another pointless Grey Worm porn scene

That's not one I'd see any point to but it does look like he's being set up. These writers don't seem to see a difference between good drama and jerking the chain.

Mountain killing Sand Snake? No Bronn? Someone mentioned him saving the snake, that makes sense. And direct confrontation, getting Bronn killed? No, I think if there's not a brother's meeting, these last two seasons are wasted. Kind of disappointed to see the Hound heading north.

I don't know. I think he survives the whole thing or dies near the end.

Bronn kills Mountain. And in a time paradox, Qyburn attaches Mountain's dick onto an unsullied who gets the name Grey Worm and we learn that "Missandei" is Valyrian for "she with big smile."

I can write this $hit as well as them.

I feel like it's possible there could be a Trial by Combat and Bronn would be killed. I feel like his story arch is over anyway.

I am not die hard so I lose track of everyone but where did Bronn go? He is certainly one of my favorite characters.

He was knighted and given a castle, IIRC. He's probably fat and out of shape with 6 kids by now.

NOOOOooooooo! I really don't want that. I prefer the fat with six kids scenario.
