Milford is a nice surprise so far this year. Probably the most evenly matched game of the week. I think the Eagles pull out a tough game 28-21.

Walnut and Turpin has been one sided the past few years but I see a tussle this time around. Will Walnut score enough to get the win? I think the Spartans notch victory uno 17-14.

Regarding playoffs, I think Lasalle will be a tough out again this year in D2. If Anderson can finish in the Harbin standings right they could avoid them until the regional final at least. Fair or not, Lasalle is going to be the team to beat in Region 8 as long as they make the playoffs moving forward I think.

Milford could make an appearance in D1 if they keep things going. Win this week and the back 5 games are an interesting mix, with 4 of 5 at home-only Walnut on the road.

They should beat Withrow and Walnut.

West Clermont could be a pick'em game.

Anderson and Kings would be tall orders. Kings MAYBE. Anderson I don't see it.

Still 7-3 would be the best record the Eagles have had in a very long time, playoffs or no.

At first I thought Milford no way to playoffs, but due to the weakness of Region 4, Milford might slide in with 6 wins!

Milford will win at least 4 more, and like I said, would not be surprised to see them beat Kings.

WW tough schedule can do two things to them. Make them stronger and tougher or wear them down by season's end, due to mounting injuries. They need to win at CCC, win at either Indy Chatard or Desales and beat Elder for the third straight year. I see them at 7-3 or 6-4 playing a 3-6 seed probably on the road. If they get pass that, which I believe they would. They would be a formidable foe for Anderson or LaSalle in Week 12.

Excellent point. Too many early season blowouts leave relatively inexperienced players/teams unprepared at crunch time.

Also, what's wrong with pumping some stats? I can appreciate a coach who wants to get more looks for his players...

Unfortunately, they new running clock rule has put an end to many young guys getting significant snaps in varsity games now. You never want to pull starters at half time, even when you are completely dominating, so you give starters a series. That could take an entire quarter or more with how fast that running clock goes. Your 2s get maybe a series or 2 and other guys don't get to break their varsity cherries anymore. It's making it harder on players on both teams, even the ones on the opposite end of said whipping, they'd like to put other players in too, but the time goes way too fast. Simply sucks big ones for player development.

Just wondering how the future of this conference looks? How is the JV and Freshman ball? Did I hear Loveland doesn't have a Freshman Team?

Senior Class at Loveland is very light. Therefore every Junior is up on the Varsity as well as a few Sophomores and even a couple Freshman. The Sophomore class number is also very low, hence about half the starters (maybe more) on the JV are Freshman. This created a situation where even though there were enough Freshman for a team, this depleted the Freshman team. Reason being, the ECC decided to play Freshman games immediately after the JV on Saturdays.

Solution: Loveland now has a JV/A and a JB/B team. All of these games have been scheduled for Thursday or Monday evenings. This allows a couple kids to play some in the A game and still be available for some of the B. The JV/B is essentially the Freshman kids with 1 or 2 sophomores who this is their first year playing football. It really is too bad because the Freshman class went 8-0 in their 8th grade year, pulling the starters in every game in the 3rd quarter except one.

It will be interesting to see. This years Freshman class could benefit from all these guys getting JV and Varsity experience, or some could quit due to physical constraints, one never knows. Side note: the current 8th grade class has around 40 players on the team. Again, time will tell how many come out next year.

Some people high on Milford. Milford beat teams with a combined record of 2-11. Not a very impressive 14-7 win over Turpin. No idea how this matchup will go Friday.

They also beat Loveland last year, and one would say they are better coached this year with Grippa.

2014 Milford won the last game of the year, knocking Loveland out of the playoffs, the year after the State Championship.

Since '95 I have never seen Milford beat Loveland at Loveland. If it has ever happened, I cannot recall.

I saw the 2007 loss at Milford and lots of painful film of the 2014 game at Milford.

That 2014 game....it rained from start to finish, Loveland couldn't stop the QB on the inverted veer, and the refs hosed them at the end by letting the kicker kick it twice to win the game. Loveland probably should've won that game. Might have been a good thing though, as they would have drawn Mt. healthy or LaSalle round 1 that year.

Sad to hear that the program is down this year, just a few years removed from a state title. I've heard Loveland will get a new AD at the end of the school year also.

I stand by it. This week's ECC finals (correct me if I'm wrong):

Anderson 44-0 win against Withrow
West Clermont with the 21-17 road win over Kings
Milford 41-6 over Loveland
Turpin 27-14 win against Walnut Hills

Worst Kings team I've seen since 2009. Good running back that doesn't get the ball enough and not much else.

Well there were only 4 games so it's not like picking a perfect March Madness bracket.

That said, I still think WW and Lasalle are the 2 best teams in region 8. Anderson will meet at least one of them in the playoffs but I'm not sure they can match the athleticism on both sides of the ball.

West Clermont @ Anderson may be a good one.

I wouldn't be too tough on Kings....The combined records of the teams they have lost to is 18-3. Their schedule softens considerably going forward. They could realistically finish the year with five straight wins.

This was my first time seeing them in person just wasn't impressed. Not a typical Kings team. No real strength outside of the running back. They need to be more creative in getting him the ball.

Fair analysis and I have concerns for Anderson. Can they slow down WW enough and or score enough against Lasalle
