Girard will finish higher, the aggregate has them finishing at 9-1, I think they go 10-0. Also Conneaut is kind of an anomaly since the majority of their schedule is PA teams so his computer doesn't do them well, but I highly doubt they finish the 7-3 they are projected to.

I was thinking the same thing as well. Also money upsetting someone will jump them up and mix up seeding Forsure. Still there will be someone that gets in when nobody thought they would, like a lakeview or Salem

Agreed. Conneaut is 1-2 right now, and I see at least 3 more losses coming (2 to PA teams and Grand Valley to end the season).

Steubenville, Perry, Poland, Struthers and Girard have the inside track to get the top 4 seeds. The winner of the Poland/Struthers game will likely be the 3 seed... maybe even leap Perry for the 2 seed. But Steubenville is pretty much a lock for the 1 seed.
I doubt Conneaut gets in. Mooney will be on the bubble. And I really don't know anything about Canton South.
I really like Salem at the 6 seed. Whoever wins the Hubbard/Lakeview game this week will also be on the bubble.

I'll say...

1. Steubenville
2. Perry
3. Poland/Struthers
4. Girard
5. Poland/Struthers
6. Salem
7. Canton South
8. Mooney
9. Hubbard/Lakeview
10. Conneaut

Salem is still a little iffy... the jury is still out on them. But they have a really good QB and a great HC.

I never said anything about anyone quitting

I just think Steubenville wins the region pretty easily

If you take that to mean everyone else should just quit, you should learn to check your baggage at the door pal.

I could see Poland surprising some people in this region...

I'm selfishly hoping as many Youngstown area teams as possible get in. Would make for a fun playoff from my point of view.

Mooney will be interesting because after this brutal 3 game road stretch (Hoban/DeSales/SVSM) their schedule lightens up a fair bit to some games where running the ball and playing D can get them some wins. It also includes a D4, a D3, 3 D2s and a D1. That's a lot of points on the table.

Sneaking in and a week 11 visit to Death Valley is certainly in play.

If Salem can get by Carrollton this week, the showdown with South in week five will be important for the playoff dreams of both. I do agree that the jury is still out on Salem. They have some nice individual talent, but have yet to completely gel as a team. Unless Mooney can pull it together, BR should dominate the region. May be Perry/BR for the region title.

Salem shouldn't of beat ep. I know it was week 1 but that is something to ponder. Perry scored 65 on EP.

Salem has some big games later on the season with Louisville and marlington Forsure, but that's why you play the games anything can happen

Not a playoff list but IMO the strongests teams right now
Steubenville
Mooney
Perry
Poland
Girard
Struthers
Hubbard
Lakeview
Ursuline
Canton S
Salem
also Streetsboro, CVCA

this is after week 3. Mooney and Ursuline play such difficult schedules that Mooney may squeek in but Ursuline has almost no chance.

If their schedule included Poland, Struthers, Hubbard, Lakeview and some of the others on this list they would win at least 4.

Agree. Talent level is way down this year.
Would probably lose to Poland, Girard, Lakeview, Hubbard and Struthers this year.
That's how bad of a year they are having.

Their outrageous schedule is a nightmare.
Three wins is about all they'll get this year, if that.

When the season started I thought Mooney and Ursuline could sneak in if they won 5 games. Not so sure of that now.

A few reasons why:

Ursuline won't win more than 3 games. So they are done.

There are the obvious heavies (Stueby, Poland, Struthers and Perry) who have started very well. Al 4 you can mark in the playoffs in ink. I'd even be tempted to mark them the top 4 in some order.

There are also a few teams with nice starts that have pretty week schedules the rest of the way (Salem, Canton South, Girard). You can't mark them in yet, but all 4 look headed for 8-10 wins.

Hubbard has 2 pretty weak wins and 2 losses that will kill their chances of getting in. The remaining winnable games they have will get them very few points. Beating 1 or both of Struthers and Poland becomes a must. They will be handing points to Girard and lakeview with every win, making their chances harder and harder.

Lakeview is in a similar boat, but at least they beat Hubbard which will be a gift that keeps on giving.

Southeast beat 3 teams a combined 1-11 and has a tough row to hoe. Not sure they can contend.

Beaver local is similar in weak wins but then again not the toughest remaining games. they could win 7 games but have very few 2nd level points.

To me that means Mooney has to win 6, meaning they can slip up only once. With their brand of conservative ball that means they can't afford mistakes. Fumbles must be cleaned up and some chances might have to be taken on offense. This weeks game against Boardman is basically a must win. Lose, and the points available the rest of the way may not be enough.

Mooney is going to beat Boardman.
Boardman is ok. Got blown out by a school 2 divisions smaller than them, granted it was Steubenville. It was close in the first half, I know.
They beat Howland- yay.....
East?... cool
Jackson? - I have no idea how they are.

But mooney is absolutely going to win that game.

Salem and Canton South have yet to play Louisville, Marlington and Alliance; Salem also has bitter rival West Branch in week ten. A very challenging schedule the rest of the way. Louisville is still the favorite to win the NBC, with Marlington the likely runner-up. Don't be surprised if Salem and Canton South sink to 6-4 when it is all over.

I see Hubbard losing more games and not getting in. Struthers could lose any or all of Canfield, Poland, Hubbard and Lakeview, but probably gets in. If Mooney doesn't beat Boardman, I don't see them getting in. Salem, South and Southeast will struggle to win .

I agree with your Salem projection. They could very easily lose all remaining games.
