I've seen both East and Canfield play once this year. I think East is the much more dangerous of the two teams. I'd say the region will be won by either East or STVM.

St V will be tested over the long stretch with the exception of north, but i would have to believe its a 3 team race between Canfield, STVM and East. East only has one more test truly in Buchtel.

Padua exposed them and showed how they handled playing against a physical team. I don't see woodridge making it past week 11.

I don't know much about Canfield but East will be a serious contender for the title. For Stv I think it will come down to them having to beat Barberton or Massillon to get in the playoffs. They will be on the bubble at 6-4 and having two of those wins over probable 2 win Walsh and North with 0 wins will make it tough. I would think Hoban and LaSalle are probable loses and North and Ursuline should be wins which sets up big games with Barberton and Massillon.

StV gets in at 7-3. Losses to Hoban, LaSalle Massillon.

If Irish lose to Barberton, a 6-4 record is going to be a stretch to play week 11. Walsh will become StV newest best friend. They have found their offense. 2 wins in the surprisingly Harbin rich NCL Blue will give StV the L2s needed to make week 11 with a 6-4 record.

Talent and size favor STVM. It comes down to the offensive line's ability to run & pass block. This could open up the playbook like 2012 & 13 Seasons. Akron East is a dangerous threat to contend for region 9. Can Canfield handle the speed of East or STVM ? Don't forget Aurora if they qualify...

After doing some math, here is what I figured out...
If Canfield wins 2 of 3 against Boardman, Struthers and Poland they cannot be any lower than the #3 seed. If they win all 3 then they will be either the #1 or #2 seed. The only team that can finish ahead of Canfield if they win those 3 games or any 9 games is Saint Vincent-Saint Mary if they go 10-0. Canfield should be able to go 8-2 and be the #1 seed as well.

It looks like a real possibility might be East vs St Vincent-St Mary in the first round. While Canfield will likely get one of the following teams: Woodridge, Tallmadge, ND-CL, Alliance, or Chardon. Worst case scenario they get a dangerous Aurora team that sneaks in as the #8 seed.

I think Canfield probably wants to be the 2 or 3 seed to be honest. As you just said, there's a chance the 1 would have to face Aurora then either East or St. Vincent St Mary in round 2.

I'll take St V but East is pretty good. The other schools are just teams going 9-1 or 10-0 vs cupcakes

Barberton has the horses to beat St V. I would not take Barberton lightly. Very solid and well coached. I'll take Barberton.

Chardon, Poland and Boardman are not cupcakes. If Canfield just played cupcakes then why are they 1st in the region by a mile?

They were commenting on StV and their game against Barberton. I'll take the Magics in that game too. With a loss there, StV could be in trouble for a playoff spot.

Tallmadge needs a win this week and they are almost a lock for a playoff spot.

Aurora needs to win at least one game against either Highland or Barberton. Without a win in those games, they will be a longshot for the playoffs.

I still have a feeling that Aurora will just barely get in as the #8 seed at 5-5.

They haven't played anyone yet though. Opponents they've played have 6 total wins combined.

This region is loaded! Lots of good teams. Don't count out Alliance and Woodridge either. Should be an exciting race for the top 8 spots right up to and through week 10. Look forward to following this region closely the 2nd half of the season. Best of luck to all involved.

Aurora showed in 2013 and 2014 they lack speed to knock off the big dogs like they use to. Canfield would beat Aurora. Svsm and East will probably give Canfield fits. Rooting for Canfield but Svsm wins the region. It's a 3 team race then the rest imo.
