David Carr no doubt. He only worked out with Ed Ruth yesterday. He has a great family background and a ton of resources.

You have to win 2 before you can win 3......and then you have a pretty good chance of winning 4. You see this all the time a kid wins a title as a freshman & automatically they are a 4 timer? More often than not it doesn't happen.....history has proven that. Only 27 times in Ohio...With possibly 2 more in 2016.

What do you think the odds are that David Carr leaves school early and trains full time, ala Kyle Snyder?

I can't see him leave early he has a strong family and religious background. Nate and the family are great people I can't see Nate doing that.

It says out of all the D3 freshman champs, there was only 2. I'd say Hoskins and Carr win 4, although Hoskins didn't dominate like Carr did.

Look for Carr at a minimum of 152 next year, maybe 160.

do you think Love will stay at DC if Carr bumps to 160? Love was a light 170 and it really hurt him at Districts...figure this year he should have gone 160 but Hoskins was there...next year should go 160, but Carr might be there.

DC loses the heavy weights...think they need to really strengthen that end of the lineup. Concentration has been always on 152 & below.

How crazy would it be if Carr and Romero end up in the same weight class would be worth the price of admission.

I don't get the Skoal joke (or Dip-N-Dots, for that matter)?

DCS is notorious for dinging employees and students for any type of tobacco use; it is in nearly every contract document they create:

DC doesn't enforce it with staff like it used to

I think it's silly to worry about an adult who smokes or dips skoal. The kids should not do it because it's illegal for them to do it and it's bad for their health but why worry and make a big deal about adults. I know, it is bad for adults health also but it's their choice.

Is he doing it while coaching or on personal time? I agree if it is personal time but shouldnt be done at practice or tournys. Drinking is legal but you dont want a coach doing it before practice. I umpire and am not allowed to use tobacco or wont be allowed to ump. I dip but do not do so while umping.

Agreed but drinking and dipping are not on the same level. Would you agree?

Most wrestlers that win as freshmen go on to win four. I don't have a data chart of it, but I recall it being north of 50%.

Being a good role model

Thats a decent reason not to dip or drink around youngins.

Nothin wrong with it (if you wanna go that route) but their is a time a nd place for it.

Scooterpie is not John Clary. He is a much better person than I am, and has a good reputation in the wrestling community.

Don't disparage his name. DC would be very lucky if they could get a coach back of his caliber.

Again, Scooterpie is not John Clary.

If they went elsewhere, they would have to give up the distinctly Christian education DCS offers.

While we know that wrestling is important to these families, without a doubt if they had to choose between a sport and a Christian education for their sons, they would choose the Christian education that initially brought them to DCS in droves.

Otherwise it would come across as if some type of "Build-A-Team" program had been implemented...and obviously that is not the case.

So it really doesn't matter who the wrestling coach is, right?
