Should be a great season for Elder baseball. Lots of talent returning for varsity. Look for Kenning (1b), Asman (3b), Doerflein (c), Beard (p) and Huey (of) to contribute. All very good players on JV last year from what I saw.

Prep Baseball Report Ohio lists 9 Elder players...4 seniors and 5 juniors. Moeller has 29 though. Not sure how the names end up on this list though.

He's from Jude. Graduated with his brother in '06. There's tons of those kids.

I think we can only draw one conclusion here!! Thompson must go so we can bring in a coach that can get us some of those Cincy Pub kids. With the Reds socking all that money into the community fund word is the inner city is just loaded with young Griffey Juniors and Barry Larkins!!

Joe Morgan lost his ESPN gig - Joe can you lend us hand - maybe use the cars from his dealership to haul the City kids to the pit!!

Did either Jr. or Barry grow up in the projects? If not, bad comparison.

I doubt Jr did as his pops was makin' bank.

Bingo!! - you got it Sparky

Enrollment should always be looked from a comprehensive standpoint, including the whole student body, striving to keep the number growing above 1000 now and into the future. It shouldn't fragmented looking at only atheletics or just one district. That approach risks picking up 10 from one district and disinfranchising 50 others from your base. You may get a short win in a particular sport with that approach but long term you pay dearly with an eroding base and enrollment -- see Lasalle.

I stan behind Thompson 100%, he is the best baseball coach in the city and one of the best in the state. All Elder spring sports are in great shape.

While we're at it can we get rid of the volleyball coach and change to the I formation instead of the 4-2. I mean come on. We haven't won state in volleyball since 2010 and even then we only won 3 games to 1 not 3 games to 0. I get tired of seeing them lose 1 or 2 games in a match. Maybe we could recruit some Cuban kids who can play volleyball and snatch them up before Moe gets them.

There's no way as alumni we should accept these kind of results from any of our athletic programs.

(this post was 100% sarcasm. Had this been a real post it would have been posted by someone name ****** ** ***** and it would be posted again and again, day after day.)

I love how you guys use teams I have lauded and bash them sarcastically. I have said, all the spring sports at Elder are in great shape. Elder could legitimately win 3 spring sport state titles(baseball, vball, lax) at one point within the next 5 years or so. Very realistically could win two state titles this year- baseball, vball.

Yeah, people are taking unnecessary shots at you right now. You were giving props to the spring sports and still get bashed.... That is bull

As opposed to how you unmercifully bash the football and basketball teams, coaches and AD day after day after day?

5 wins combined among your football and basketball team is awful anyway you slice it. I won't go after the kids, but this entire athletic year has been miserable. Hopefully spring sports set things on the right track. A state title in baseball and volleyball will go a long way.
