Versailles use to bring a crowd the size of Coldwater but that has been many moons ago.
I knew they were newer. My biggest gripe isn't even the size of them. It's that it's too close to the field that when its packed, you can't see much of the endzone or scoreboard (I had to jump to see the bottom of it) on the south side from the seats on the 50. If you back them up about 10 feet and move the scoreboard so both sides can see it properly then that would be ok. I don't know how they are for a JV game. Maybe I should go watch my cousin play then and find out

Its true, the only time they have been full in the last 6 years other than a CW game may have been when the Flyers played Bradford in the play-offs several years ago.

I do like Versailles. If they got bigger stands on the visitor side, turf, and Parking that would be a good playoff spot. Its just fine for a regular MAC game. Parkway is ok. Their visitor stands are raised up a little bit which helps. My favorite stadium to watch a game is Piqua's current stadium. I guess I like the space between the stands and the field.

Really? If I were a supporter of another MAC school I'd take that as an Insult.

I don't recall ML ever filling the visitor stands at FR.

That is because the bottom stands are so low people are usually standing. I have gone to maybe 5 or 6 ML games at FR and their is usually as many Flyers fans at the game as their are FR fans. Only one team travels as well as ML in the MAC and that is CW, a lot of that is because of both teams winning tradition.

and yet they almost gave up football, because of lack of numbers and lack of interest.......

maybe they thought they thought there was another HUGE 50/50 drawing again

by the way where did the winner of the 50/50 come from the other night?

Coldwater stopped announcing winners of the 50/50 awhile ago so I'm not really sure. I had 3 numbers though! I imagine Coldwater unless someone from Marion bought them on the Coldwater side.

bigkitten has been inferring there is presale of our 50/50 for the MSML game. I personally have never heard that but I think going forward it may not be a bad idea if they fan figure out the logistics. Maybe sell em at the home JH games, VB and Soccer games that week but that would be a lot of effort.

Selling at the game suffices.

With the 1st AP poll this will be a battle of no.1 teams. ML in D-6 and Minster in D-7.

I like bleachers to be close to the field, so I like Versailles' visitors stands.

I watched the first half of the ML-CJ jv game two seasons ago from Marion's visitors bleachers and thought the view was quite good. The stands were nearly empty though - didn't have to crane my neck to see around others.

When attending games at CW, I appreciate the large visitors bleachers - excellent capacity for a small school.

With turf, could CW be a playoff site? Or is the location simply too far from I-75?

With turf, Coldwater could definitely handle DVII semis thru Regional title games.

If we do, it'd probably be some D7 game or MAC vs MAC

I have heard one of the best places to watch a game from the visitors side...is the Deck off a House in Fort Recovery....the thing is you have to be drunk and obnoxious to stand up there...
