Interesting the Ed's guys both have Solon in the top 10, where I have Euclid as the top GCC team. The teams are close (as is Mentor), but think Euclid has been more impressive so far. Beat Glenville handily and both have close wins against a very good Aurora team.

Since the GCC has three teams that will probably be getting some D1 votes, it will be interesting to see how things play out. Euclid-Solon-Mentor are the prohibitive top 3 teams, but the west side teams all at least appear to be better than expected (but that's just average instead of below average):

Strongsville- Does have some talent with the junior class, but probably not enough to give the top 3 a challenge. Maybe next year for them.

Brunswick - Looks better than most people probably expected with the new coach and how bad they were last year.

Elyria - Nearly beat a decent Avon Lake team and appears to have been competitive against a very good Bedford team. Still not a good team, but maybe better than I gave them credit for.

Those three, coming in, outside of beating each other (and Medina), didn't seem to be a lot of wins to be had.

Shaker is a ??? because they haven't played anybody and Medina looks horrible, but overall, I think the "Big 3" may be tested more than what I (and most people) expected.

I still don't think there is a state contender in the top group, but Euclid-Solon-Mentor could all legitimately be in that 7-15 range.

OCC GUY is an unknown quantity at this point
Fair positioning of Pick Central by all. I am sure pulling for PC to bring a State Championship back to the OCC. Weeks away from that discussion I know but I like what PC has done so far. A bad call at the end of the semi finals last year cost them an appearance in the big game, and they are tougher yet this year. I think it is reasonable to anticipate a challenging post season and possibly a State Championship.

Mason and Sycamore gets no love, while Colerain stays in everyone's top ten.

Not mine. 0-2 doesn't deserve a top ten rating. Maybe later on they will be, but not now.

Strength of schedule matters... St. X is my top team in D 1 and La Salle is my top team in D 2.

And just because Colerain played and lost to both they are in the top ten over two teams that have handled their business just like they should. I think posters get too analytic when doing their top tens. Whoever wins the Mason/Sycamore game this week should be in everyone's top ten.

Miamisburg moves up from D2 so probably not on many radars yet. They are a dangerous team. Worthy of top 10 consideration.

In the city yes. State. No. Mason/sycamore would be 0-2 also against Colerain schedule

I'm not so sure that Mason/Sycamore would be 0-2 against Colerain schedule. But if they were 0-2 neither would be in anyone's top ten. Colerain is actually 0-2 (no hypothetical needed) and still in everyone's top ten.

Sycamore has played a D2 and s D 3 school. No love there. Mason plays withrow?? Come on. That's a horrible schedule. Put st Eds or Iggys in there and then maybe there'd get in there

Put Eds or Iggy and it would be a loss for Mason/Sycamore and we know a loss wouldn't get Mason/Sycamore into the top ten whereas two losses gets Colerain in. My argument is at 0-2 Colerain shouldn't be in the top ten at the moment.

But you noted that sycamore and Mason were not getting mentioned. My point is with those schedules why should they. Granted Colerain is based on history. But you went off the rails mentioning the other two. All 3 don't belong. How's that

Colerain lost a one score game to the D2 returning champion. Then lost a dramatic OT game to the D1 returning champion. I would say almost every team named on this list would have a similar outcome if not way worse. By that logic Colerain belongs on the list somewhere. Polls are silly, but saying Colerain doesn't belong on this list because of those two losses is pretty ridiculous. Going by record there are plenty of 2-0 teams they won't even break .500 this year. You have to vote by performance not record. Come week 10 sure record could matter and then strength of schedule will mean more once there is more data to prove true rankings.

If they beat both of them but lose to X and LaSalle what does that prove. You just agreed mason and sycamore don't play anyone?

This is absolutely a down year for the GMC. But there are D1 teams on this list that play way easier schedules than that of Colerain. I know you have a hardon for hating Colerain and just love getting under Colerain fans' skin but be somewhat unbiased. Colerain is the best public school in SWO until someone dethrones them. I don't want to turn this into public vs private but its clear with the dwindling numbers of participants in public school football they will not be able to compete with the private schools. Colerain is playing 6/7 kids both ways at time. Mason's numbers are dropping. Its happening all over.
