Why would Boley leave Chippewa which he has turned around to coach at manchester if and when France retires .... isn't that a lateral move ? He was a Finalist supposedly at Wadsworth a year or two ago

He is a Manchester graduate. I think the Panther faithful are hoping for this. I might just all depend on if he wants it or not.

I've heard the same thing about Boley and Manchester.

Also, did anyone go to the Manchester-Minerva scrimmage? If so, how'd they look?

I wouldn't call it lateral. It's a slight step up. He's turned Chippewa around, but Doylestown is kind of off in it's own area. Not many kids are turning down Norton, Barberton, and Wadsworth to go to Chippewa.

Manchester is a little more appealing than most of the Akron schools unless you can afford St. V or Hoban or you're good enough that they pay you to come.

I think Manchester success is more sustainable over a longer period of time than Chippewa.

Orrville looked better in its second scrimmage but Waterloo is young. Still some people out due to injury but added some offense that they didn't run in the first scrimmage and looked better.

The Wadsworth job was his, but he pulled out from consideration after the first interview. He wasn't the only one who did, the second choice did as well. In regards to Manchester, he is a graduate from there, and has a close relationship with France. However, not so sure the Manchester job is better though. First you have to follow a legend (no win situation). Second the Manchester community is aging, and numbers have continued to decline. There is little development going on in New Franklin. Lastly, totally disagree with Eyes Burning. Doylestown is planning numerous upgrades to the school and stadium, they have gotten several athletes from Barberton over the past few years, and the community is growing both in size, and in its support of the program.

They probably have the most speed in the PAC because the upcoming Junior they have I heard is the fastest in the PAC due to the past two track season. Very excited and good luck to the royals this year!
I just watched the CVCA-Tusky Valley scrimmage, it was without a doubt the most Dreadful scrimmage I've ever seen. Mistakes, penalties and turnovers on nearly every play. It was 0-0 when I left with 35 seconds to go when the Zebras sent the teams to the locker room for a lightning delay.

Every possession ended in a punt, a turnover or a missed FG.

TV had 5 false starts, a delay of game, a couple of holding penalties, one pass interference and the D-Line jumped off sides 4 times on hard counts.

Not to be outdone, CVCA had a couple of false starts, a couple of holding penalties, a block in the back, one off sides. And they had several penalties that were declined by TV.

CVCA had 2 snaps go over the QB's head and 3 more high snaps where the QB bobbled the ball and had to fall on it.

CVCA completed 2 passes to the very fast #1 WR and had the ball 1st and goal at the TV 4, but fumbled the ball away on the next play.

CVCA's QB sailed a pass that was picked off by TV just outside the CVCA 20 yard line. 2 running played netted -2 yards and then an incomplete pass set up a 38 yard FG try with 53 seconds left. The kick landed on the goal line.

Neither team could pass block and both QB's were running for their lives before they could even get set up. It looked like a 3-7 team playing a 1-9 team.
3 different CVCA DB's got run over by TV's RB's and QB. After the 3rd guy got Trucked one of the CVCA coaches yells "You guys are getting stoned out there. What are you going to do about it."

You say CVCA has 45-50 kids on the team, I counted 22 on the sideline plus 11 on the field for a total of 33.

Better it be in a scrimmage that means little to nothing than in week 1. CVCA will be fine this season. The Royals have 40 kids out this year all togehter.

Week One is here. Any news? Predictions?

Here's the slate for the PAC in Week One:

Doylestown Chippewa @ Manchester

Smithville @ Tuslaw

Wooster @ Orrville

CVCA @ Crestwood

Loudonville @ Northwestern

Lake @ Northwest

Triway @ West Holmes

Sandy Valley @ Fairless

I'll say the PAC goes 5-3 in the first week. I like Manchester, CVCA, Triway, Tuslaw, and Fairless to win.

Does anyone know if Manchester Coach Jim France has broken the OHSAA career win total or is he a couple games away from the record?

Not as optimistic. I'll take Tuslaw and Triway.

Think Fairless is toss up and Loudonville is a 1 score game in favor of Northwestern.

I will say the PAC goes 0-8 the first week and 0-24 in the out of league games.

Man, if only that transfer from Russia came to Manchester. The PAC would win at least 3 NL games.

The first week PAC slate is tough. It could easily be an 0-8 week but I do believe that Chippewa is not what it's been recently so think Manchester at home should be able to get away with a win. I also think Triway can get by West Holmes but other than that, I think the PAC is on the losing end. 2-6 week 1.

PAC-7 web site is just about finished! www.pac7sports.org
Football schedules are up and ready to go. Just working on getting rosters.

For this fall we are just doing football, but it should be conference-wide by winter.

It looks good, Pit. Nice job. I'm going to share the link on social for other fans who may live away from the area, but want to keep up. Thanks for doing the site.

Thanks! The images on the front page are just placeholders for now. Looking for updated content, photos, and links in the future.

Due to my other web site, we have boys basketball schedules and results back to 2012-13, so take a look to see what it'll look like. They all use the same database.
