No doubt, and I think VV is for real. A regional championship is in reach if Genslinger can stay healthy. I think its a two/three team race in Region 16, VV, Massie, and Wyoming. Don't know enough on Wyoming to know how they will be, but a home playoff game will happen for VV win or lose against Franklin. Coming to Barker will be tough place for Franklin to win, and it's homecoming so the Spartans will be ready to roll.

Franklin will for sure be the favorite in the game next week so there is no pressure on VV it's all going to be on the wildcats. A win for Franklin and people will say you beat a DIV team like you're supposed to and if you lose, people in Region 12 will question your legitimacy. As for VV, win and it sends a wave through Region 16 that these boys can take it all and if they lose it will be expected and will help them prepare for possible playoff matchups with Wyoming or Massie, should VV make it that far. I'm excited for the matchup to see how our boys stack up against Franklin

People in region 12 already question our legitimacy, but is anyone in region 12 legit besides Trotwood, I mean they are one of the most dominant runs I can remember.

But your post already sounds like an excuse, I mean you are VV 3 time state champs, and you are playing the you are supposed to beat us card.

Yes VV three-time state champs over 20 years ago means nothing now! Absolutely no excuses to lose the Franklin Franklin is a good team Franklin has dominated so far this year!

Not buying the "all the pressure on the wildcats" card. Franklin already has 3 solid wins (Carlisle, Edgewood, Piqua) under there belt. This is VV homecoming and biggest game of the year. Franklin has a sophomore starting his 2nd Varsity game. If not this year then when will be the next time VV will win the SWBL? Both teams will be pumped in front of a sold out crowd. Cant wait for this one...

Yes this is a big game for VV and they will be pumped to show Franklin the door next Friday. Believe me when I say it was fun embarrassing every team we came across throughout the 90s and early 2000s. Those VV teams knew they were going to win before they stepped onto the field and worse yet, the opponent knew they were going to get beat even before they came onto the field. VV never rebuilt they always reloaded, VV has always had the talent walking the halls regardless of how the records the past 10 years have looked. All it took was a revival in interest in the program and with the right coaches again... Keatting coming back to coach the O and former NFL fullback/VV alum Brock Bolen coaching here as well, it has kids and fans excited again. It's honestly starting to feel like the old Germantown, but before I hop off my soap box, until we knock off a team we aren't supposed to or make a run to state, or hell even win league again. VV can't truly get their swagger back. So while I might have been wrong to say all the pressure is on Franklin, Until VV starts putting together year after after year of domination like we all were accustomed to seeing, and people start expecting them to win again, I just don't see how VV has any pressure on them. They just haven't made a serious run yet that makes the schools in the league, region nervous, don't worry though, they will

Have to get by Dixie first

The best team SWBL has had for a long time was that Brookville team 2 years ago. With only one loss to Coldwater (the eventual D5 state champion) in week 13 that's the best team SWBL has possibly had in this decade. I feel as if that team would wipe the floor with any team SWBL has had recently. In conference play they averaged 23 points a game while keeping their opponents under 7, and in ooc they averaged close to 36 and opponents just over 10. No one, not even Franklin, has had that kind of dominance in recent memory.

That year Brookville ran through an extremely weak SWBL (only team with a winning record Monroe 6-4) I don't mean to doubt what your saying but

2010 Eaton (10-0) made it to week 13
Averaged 40-9 (5 of the 6 league teams were held to a TD or less other than Valley View who got beat 56-28)
THEY HELD THEIR OPPONENT TO FEWER THAN 10 POINTS FOR 10-11 weeks
Just take a look at the scores
Week 1: 30-0
Week 2: 9-7
Week 3: 41-7
Week 4: 34-6
Week 5: 31-6
Week 6: 42-7
Week 7: 41-7
Week 8: 35-0
Week 9 :56-28 I was at the VV game. Best team I think Eaton ever had
Week 10: 48-7
* Week 11: 26-7
* Week 12: 41-21
* Week 13: 14-39

That right there is utter domination.

That impressive IRLMN1999. I also want to say franklin 2012 and or 2013 run was good. I'm not saying better but dominant sure. Last year team was one of the best I saw in swbl. In my opinion the best team year after year past 5 seasons have franklin, valley view, and Carlisle

I will say in Brookville defense, it seems every 5-6 years they have a class come through that does have a dominant trait in them

Yes I agree with that. Just like franklin there was a 6-8 years that franklin couldn't do anything then in 08 or 09 made playoffs then 09-11/2 they was on it for 3-4 plus years. happens every year look at cold water they are 0-3

Coldwater is 1-2

They beat Kenton their first game. Lost to Massie and Marion Local.

That Eaton team was sure good but their ooc games were cupcakes with the likes of talawanda, preble shawnee, and greenon. At that time no swbl team was dominant much like when Brookville won it. I think they're very similar scenarios but in my opinion there's something about that Brookville team that just demoralized their opponents. They were going to run it down your throats and there's nothing you could do about it.

I am biased but I would have to say the 2007 Monroe team that made it to the State Final 4 is the best team the SWBL has had in the last decade. They beat Indian Hill in the Regional Champtionship and then lost to the eventual State Champs in week 14, 21-7. Great group of players and a heck of a coaching staff... Krause, Snively, Wilhelm, Stubbs etc.

Not sure 2007 Monroe was even the best in the league that year, let alone the last decade. Maybe they were, but Milton was pretty good 2005,6,7. 2007 MU lost a heart-breaker in the playoffs to Clinton-Massie in round 2. Went through the big school side (beating VV 22-7, one of Monroe's losses 24-14) while Monroe was going through the small school side.

Actually they were, Franklin and Monroe joined in the 2006 football season originally Monroe was in the Buckeye Division, Franklin has always been in the southwest.

2007 season was the best year for the league ever maybe, every team in the Southwest Division was 500 or better. 5 teams on the southwest side made the playoffs and Milton Union was nasty, maybe better in 2006 because of Mitch Evans but the 2007 was loaded as well.

7 teams in 2007 from the SWBL as a whole were playoff teams, that kind of depth doesn't happen often.

Franklin played 6 playoff teams that fall.

The Monroe team in 2007 was a great team. They were a pick 6 away from playing in Massillon. But the SWBL was great that year and Monroe did lose 24-14 at home to Valley View and the next week had to have a goal line stand to beat Bellbrook. I think Monroe benefited that year of playing an easy schedule in the Buckeye side that kept them healthy to make a playoff run. As great as that team was I don't think you can clearly say they were the best that year.

Eaton in 2010 was as good as I have seen. They could take it to you on the ground but also could beat you in the air. I don't think they had a offensive linemen under 250lbs. Brookville 2 years ago was a great team but I believe benefited from a down league.

LOL IRLMN...Monroe definitely was in the SWBL...06 was the first year because the 2005 season was the last year in the MML. I agree that the 07 Monroe team struggled early but they still played in week 14, something no other SWBL team has done this decade. Regional Championships trump League Championships.
