Should be a good game. In terms of playoff hopes, it's definitely a must-win game for GlenOak and probably the same for Hoover.

Hoover needs to win tomorrow I think their whole season depends on it. If not we are looking at probably 3-7. Then I think Hoover needs to move on to a replacement.

No, because Massillon is improving faster and just might be better than Perry this year. Whenever they played each other, Massillon seemed to always win, even when Perry was better. I think they are very close this year, so it could be either way.

Perry, Massillon, Jackson I think are in a 3 way tie for second right now. Obviously we will get a little better clarification from the Perry-Jackson game this Friday.

I'm still not even ready to say Lake couldn't be #5, although the loss of the QB will probably end that.

If history has taught us anything... it is hard to achieve the success of a starting QB over Backup QB in high school... and yes... there are Always exceptions and maybe the LAKE team may be one of the exceptions?... I sure hope so!

Replacement coach? At 3-7, I'd say cut bait while you can still get good applicants. I'd say that at 5-5 + playoffs in a bad Region 7 even.

Not so much worried about the final record but there's no excuse to be less than a playoff team this year.

Mckinley, Perry, Jackson and Bishop Hartley all solid teams...and they all have to make the trip to NC. Glenoak, Lake and Green will fight hard to defend their turf...but I'd say Hoover is the favorite in those games.

Whether it's 5 wins or 9 Hoover should be playing somewhere week 11.

I don't see a 5 win Hoover team playing in week #11.

If they only get five wins, then the teams that they beat will be the teams that won't produce L2 points. I think Hoover has to also have a win against McKinley, Perry, or Jackson to make it to the post season.

I hope Hoover makes the playoffs...Lake too for that matter. I really don't want the Region 7 field to be Boardman (we have a tough path still to traverse), Massillon, and a bunch of Columbus city teams lol

I agree..it'll take at least 7. Merely playing off Jackson 03s last statement

I always root for the Fed schools unless we're playing them! I'm just saying that regardless of record, I think Hoover especially but Lake as well are among the top 8 teams in Region 7. Lake has always acquitted themselves well in the playoffs against higher seeded opposition.

Wins over GlenOak, Lake, Green, and Jackson would probably get Hoover a road game at 6-4. That's doable for them. But tomorrow night is pretty much do-or-die.

Congratulations to the young men who competed in CCHS/STA game...

Much credit to both communities in this traditional Stark County Classic and best of luck to both these teams going forward with Athletics and most importantly Academics!

Are we sleeping on GlenOak? I've given them almost no respect. But I'm very interested in seeing the stats they put up tonight. Massillon and especially Whitmer are looking good. Might end up with a very different top 5 in the county than we thought tonight, depending on how the games go.

Also congrats to Canton South, who has a chance to go 4-0 for the first time since 2000. Lots of parity for the NBC's last season.

Not me. But, the problem that GlenOak has is that they have two losses and still have to play St. Ignatius, McKinley, Perry, and Jackson.

They probably need to win one between Ignatius and McKinley, one between Perry and Jackson, and the rest of their games....they would have a decent chance at the post season with a 6-4 record.

Jackson 31 Perry 7
GlenOak 17 Hoover 6
McKinley 17 Green 0
Marlington 21 Louisville 14
Massillon 21 Ursuline 7
South 27 Minerva 0
Ashland 7 Lake 0

GlenOak wins a tight one over Hoover, and everyone else does what was expected. But the big surprise is Jackson putting a running clock on Perry.

Top 5:

McKinley
Jackson
Massillon
GlenOak
Hoover

On the bubble: Perry (still won't know what they're made of until week 6)

Lake is not a playoff team this year! I hate to say it, but I'll be surprised if Lake wins a league game this year.....

McKinley is down to it's 3rd string RB,Chandler had to leave early in the game.He had ice on his knee.

He never returned to the game.

I'm not afraid to say that Jackson may steal the top spot in my book. Jackson looked better this week than McKinley looked last week against Hudson.

They have weapons and some speed. Things are starting to click for them.

1A McKinley
1B Jackson
3 maybe Massillon

Perhaps that's because Hudson is better than Perry. Time will tell. For now, McKinley's 4-0 record is better than Jackson's 3-1.

Seeing Hudson and Perry, I'm not so sure about that

But I agree. Undefeated is better than 3-1.

Agreed. McKinley still has the top spot. Uncontested in my opinion. What does the QB situation look like there now? Heard a QB got injured.

The Green QB got injured. McKinley's QB is fine, but Chandler went out with an injury and didn't return and Lewis remained on the sidelines with an injury. Hopefully both will be ready to go for the Hoover game.
