Bears win 6-0. Kept their composure over a couple questionable calls. Walsh seemed to lose their composure a bit and it cost them.

Jackson had "questionable calls?" Exactly what were those calls, because all I saw was a Jackson team pretty much dominating Walsh yesterday.

Bears did dominate. Two of their batters had mystery 3rd strikes called on them for stepping out of the batters box early in the game when the game was close. In my opinion, Walsh coach and pitcher lost their composure at different points in the game while the Bears were unaffected

Also, no question that Walsh head coach tries to throw off the rhythm of the opposing pitcher by having the batter step out of the box for long periods of time forcing the pitcher to step off. Kyle Nicolas simply stepped off the mound and played catch with the third baseman each time these tactics were employed - I will say, I've seen Walsh do this quite a bit over the past 3 years and to me it seems bush league.

Regarding the mystery third strike called against the Jackson batters. Simply, that's a rule, which sadly isn't enforced very often by most umpires. Batter must keep one foot inside batters box between pitches, and/or batter has a time limit to re enter the batters box, or by rule the umpire can call a strike, which in this example resulted in strike three. I really didn't think Jackson was too concerned about the Walsh coach's attempt to slow or control the game tempo the game down nearly as much as certain Jackson fan were. It's just a part of the game. Considering there were 3 umpires working the game, seems like they had things under control. So interesting for me as just a high school baseball fan with no dog in the fight, to stroll from team to team's side, listening to the various fan's "insight" throughout the game. Walsh fans seemed more upset with certain players Walsh had in their lineup, ie their young catcher, while Jackson fan's seemed pretty supportive of any kid on or off the field. Just an observation.

Thanks for clarifying the rule on third strikes called -- I had never seen it called that way before and I guess to your point that's because it's not often enforce.

Walsh's regular catcher plays summer ball at a pretty high level. Is he hurt or something ? If so, that would be a shame, as he's going into his 17u summer if I'm not mistaken. Am I thinking of the right kid ?
