Dirk Nowitzki joins elite company with 30,000 career points

Quote:
With his 20th point Tuesday night against the Lakers, Dirk Nowitzki became the fifth player in NBA history to score 30,000 career points.

Nowitzki, 38, joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant to reach the milestone. Julius Erving reached 30,000 points with his ABA career included, but Nowitzki, who hails from Germany, will be the first international player in the group.

Very happy for Dirk. If he was an American born player, we'd be praising him as one of the best ever. When you think about it, he revolutionized the 4 position. He put the stretch in stretch 4. He's a small forward, but he's 7 foot tall. He's won a title and has played on alot of playoff teams that's made deep runs into the playoffs. Certainly one of the best of this era.

Dirk is considered one of the best, if not the best, foreign born player. However his lack of effort and talent on the defensive end will forever prevent him from being consider one of the best ever in the entire sport. No shock 14Red does not understand this.

He's in a small market, he doesn't dunk or do wild acrobatic plays, so ESPN and the NBA doesn't market players like he and Tim Duncan.

Dirk's a class act and should be considered one of the best of the last two decades.

Yeah, Dirk and Duncan never get any respect. I'm not sure why 14red keeps making these types of stupid posts. I assume he actually believes it though.
