Colin Kaepernick

Isn't it nice of Colin Kaepernick, who is now out of a job, has decided he will stand for the national anthem from now on???

What a fraud. John Lynch has already improved the Niners by meeting with this malcontent and basically telling him he can opt out of his contract or be released, up to him.

Say what you want, but you can get buried in the NFL. Ray Rice will never see another NFL down and Kaepernik may be on his way as well. He's not good enough for the headaches he caused. It will be interesting to see how the liberals at ESPN will take this.

Outside of all of that, he just hasn't been a decent football player in a while. His skill set should have meshed with Chip Kelly, but he ended up behind Blaine Freaking Gabbert.

And being marginal, why put up with the headache. It's just funny now that he's out of a job, he's going to play nice for the GM's try to sign him. How goofy.

In spite of an academic record that some have touted, his complete skill set did not match up with the demands of Kelly's system. He did not react quickly or accurately enough to what he saw in a defense to satisfy Kelly. Whether he didn't do the prep work or was incapable of thinking fast enough, he was a fail. Athleticism was secondary at QB for Kelly.

Yeah, San Fran is one of the most liberal NFL cities. Easy to posture and disrespect those that have been willing to risk all for that flag in SF.

Now he won't risk his next paycheck.

Maybe he is saying that America under Trump will be better for blacks than under Obummer ?

There will be plenty of time for "high principles" after a contract.

I think the guy is a moron and is now sacrificing his beliefs for a paycheck, but I don't think he disrespected the military.

He made it very clear he wasn't disrespecting the military, but was protesting recent the treatment of blacks with police (obviously that is a debatable issue).

What he made clear by his damage control was the realization that he had disrespected anyone that ever fought for that flag. No surprise that either of you missed that, though.

At least Turden has an excuse. e_p's old enough that he should know better.

It's funny, the people who always go on and on about others disrespecting the military and/or police have usually never spent time anywhere near those two professions. It's usually used as a tool to further one's agenda. Which, as a veteran, is far more disrespectful to me than anything Kaepernick ever did.

I agree. Whether or not he was right in what he was protesting is what the debate should be. But to use the military/police as a pawn for your side's agenda is where the real disrespect lies, and I would argue any service men or women who got upset were looking to be upset. Police also.

In fact, Kaepernick stood and clapped on the sidelines when members of the military were recognized on the field. Kaepernick has said explicitly, “I have great respect for the men and women that have fought for this country. I have family, I have friends that have gone and fought for this country. This country isn’t holding up their end of the bargain… men and women that have been in the military have come back and been treated unjustly, and have been murdered by the country they fought for, on our land. That’s not right.”

Yup, he made it clear from nearly day one he wasn't protesting or disrespecting the military. It's pretty stupid to argue otherwise.

Right. And he disrespected soldiers to do it. You're splendidly stupid on this one. Why do you think people (the respectful ones, anyway) shut up and take their caps off, you dolt ?

Probably not well enough to get a contract anywhere. He showed his azz, and he's not worth the trouble. So funny that he compromised his hollow beef on his way out the door.

Again, you're wrong. Did you even read the article I posted? Any service member who got offended by Colin is a sensitive snowflake looking to be the victim, because none of it was about them.

Only a moron thinks the flag is representitiive of the military exclusively, it represents the entire country. He was protesting a specific part of it and was upfront about it from day one.

So he was protesting the oppression of black people by police? Soooo...is that all solved now? Or did he change his belief on the issue? Why the about face? I'll tell you why. Because he's a young selfish punk that thinks he's entitled because he plays in the NFL. Now that people (including his boss) are tired of his little games, they told him to beat it. Now, suddenly he's going to show some damn respect again. Funny how that works. He's a poser.
