Congrats! It was interesting how often all three systems had similar predictions this season (on individual playoff games).

Hard to take these ratings seriously when Mechanicsburg and Delphos Jefferson are both rated ahead of Cuyahoga Heights.

Great job vamps! You can beat Cal Preps super computers, and the mathematical expert Pasteur. Also, congrats again on being the 2016 SWO King of the Spread! ~~~ The SWO KOS for basketball will be coming up soon, somewhere in the middle of this month. Looking forward to your participation, and more of your mathematical wizardry!

Can't vouch for Jefferson but in my opinion and several other Flyer fans I spoke with we all thought Mechanicsburg was a better ball club than CH...
Not much , but better - would rather play CH again before Mechanicsburg...

I know right? As I understand, vamps even got some of the games wrong! How good could it be if he ranked some teams too high or too low? Or if it isn't always a PERFECT and EXACT rating of all teams, from #1-731? (sarcasm font)

If your comments aren't sarcasm, I'll bite. Vamps uses a very accurate relative ranking (formula driven) and it's not perfect, subject to the game being decided on the field, upsets included. Expect some surprises and imperfections. He wasn't intentionally slighting Cuyahoga Heights...that's just how the numbers worked out, based on W-L, SOS, etc. If vamps system worked perfect, then we wouldn't have to play the playoff games.

Besides, who's to say Cuyahoga Heights could beat either Mechanicsburg or Delphos Jefferson in a head-to-head game this year? They never played and had different paths in the playoffs. Delphos Jefferson and Mechanicsburg were unfortunate enough to be in Marion Local's region and Cuyahoga Heights avoided Marion Local until the final. Maybe the three best teams were all in the same region.

I always enjoy vamps ratings and appreciate his work.

Uh if Marion Local is no 22 in the state, then Cuyahoga Heights should be no 23 in the state regardless of division. Ridiculous and everybody except the MAC Kool-Aid drinkers knows it.

Jefferson is pretty good too, I think they would've made some noise in another region other than 24 the last 2 years. I'd have been glad to see my boys from the Burg play CH in the shoe so we could see who is better(different kinds of teams) but there was a dang good team got in the way of that(ML). Seeing them all...... I'm biased so I won't start that discussion and it doesn't really mater now but the 3 "contenders" listed are all worthy. But the Flyers are the deepest and best.

Cuyahoga Hts regular season opponents combined for 45 regular season wins to the 41 Mechanicsburg did

CH had only two end-game final score margins that were "running clock" (i.e. 30+). That said there were multiple other games that seemed very decisive in nature as well. Mechanicsburg won every regular season game by 30 or more points

Just a couple of thoughts on how an iterative strength ranking (which I think the V2S is) could have yielded such an outcome - as the inputs are generally opponents win percentage and margin of victory (to keep it simple).

Moeller 11 slots ahead of Elder? LOL. God I wish central and northern ohio public schools could or would play Elder regularly so Elder can prove it's a top 20 team in OH every single year.

With that said, Vamps, I appreciate all the time you dedicate to these things.

Not much , but better - would rather play CH again before Mechanicsburg...
Totally disagree. CH had a much better defense, after halftime CH did a much better job of stopping ML's QB, Mechanicsburg never did stop him. In fact do not believe ML got their first 1st down until late 3rd qt. or early 4th qt. in 2nd half vs. CH. Mechanicsburg had Romero and a good o-line and that was about it, CH was a much better overall team in my opinion.

CH def. Kirtland twice and shut out a STA team that def. D-5 champ CCC and also I believe def. D-7 champ JFK. It is hard to put a running clock on good competition.

I guess then we will have to agree to disagree.... We were marching right before the half and if Leugers had not thrown the pick and we go up 28-3 at the half it may have been over.... And they did not stop Leugers the second half we stopped ourselves as you are aware right that 2nd possession of 2nd half we fumble, 3rd was blocked punt they recover on the one, 4th we fumble again, and 5th possession another interception.... Not so much their defense but rather our mistakes.... Yes Romero was a one man wrecking crew but he scared us every time he touched the ball as he could go all the way and we needed 2-4 guys every time to get him down...

Vamps, do you know if Drew Pasteur factors in home field advantage for his weekly game predictions? If so, do you know how much?

I think, don't hold me to it, but I think I remember it being worth either 2 or 3 points

Uh, any ranking system that has a D6 team number 22 in the state regardless of division, is beyond ridiculous.
