No they won't. Goal #1 is to get and stay healthy. Goal #2 is to keep the 1 seed. I don't believe there is any team in the East that can compete with a healthy Cavs team in a series.
David Griffin summed it up last night. When asked about sitting the big three, and whether he felt as if he had an "obligation to the fans" to play them, he responded that he has an obligation to CLE fans...to win a championship. And if it takes resting players to put them in the best position to do that, then so be it.

It was probably a game where Kyrie was going to have to sit anyway because of his knee tightness and Love is still limited, so they could have still played LeBron and asked him to go give 40 minutes and try to win a game @ LAC by himself ... OR just sit all three of them. The latter was probably the right move as LBJ has been carrying this team lately

Nah, Cavs are done. Remember, they lost on the road Saturday without Big 3. They are one of the worst teams in the league. They have no chance to win championship. Terrible coach. Terrible defense.

Great to see Love, Kyrie, JR, and LBJ all on the floor at the same time. Been a while. Now hopefully Korver is back soon

I'm sure ABC/ESPN, and then Clipper fans, found it pleasing the Cavs played their stars against 20-win Lakers.

Taco MacArthur has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I''m sure Gilbert, Griffin, Lue and LeGM don't care.

You guys should run a sports franchise. You seem to know better than owners, GMs and coaches on how to manage players minutes and health. I'm willing to leave those decisions up to the group that brought CLE its first championship in over 60 years. Some CLE fans are so fickle...win a championship and they still conplain about how they do it.

If the Cavs get in the playoffs and have a healthy roster, seeding and home court simply won't matter. Nobody in the East can match up with them.

Since they have already clinched a playoff spot, the ONLY thing that matters now is getting the guys healthy and rested. Balance of the schedule is meaningless. Take every other game off. Who cares?

Thank you.

Obviously, they WANT to maintain the 1 seed (I mean who doesn't) but not at the expense of injury or prolonged, unnecessary minutes. I have a suspicion that once the playoffs start, it's all hands on deck, all the time.

I'd like to see how these critics would crucify the Cavs staff if LeBron or Kyrie were hurt in a meaningless game playing meaningless minutes. So, if you're going to get criticized either way, might as well choose the way that has the best chance to keep your star players healthy.

As I said above, I'm on board with Cavs resting as needed through the end of the regular season.

However, the league does have an issue when the stars sit out the big prime time TV games on the weekends. It puts an inferior product out there, and ratings dip. Let's face it, part of the TV contract is that the league goes to great lengths to schedule the big stars facing off on holidays and prime time.
So this is an issue for the NBA to plan better in future scheduling.

If you schedule to have OKC playing at Golden State on a Saturday night TV game, don't have OKC playing at Phoenix the night before. Even if Westbrook plays both games, he isn;t at full strenght, and the product suffers.

If you schedule Cavs at Clippers for a March Saturday night TV game, do it with your eyes open. Know that the Cavs will likely have clinched a spot, so don't have them playing 3 games in 4 nights on the road. It's dumb; NBA set themselves up for this possibility. You want both teams rested and at full strength for the premier games.

The problem isn't that the Cavs suck, or have terrible defense. Its a matter of motivation. Defense requires hunger, passion and effort. Right now they are still in 'championship hangover' mode, and in the back of their minds these games mean nothing, and their play shows it.

Once the playoffs start the motivation will be there; they have something to play for. Defense will ratchet up at that point...

They've got to get that figured out before the playoffs start. Having such a fluctuating lineup all year certainly hasn't helped with their team defense and positioning/rotations

I hope so,but it has to start with Lue Lue,it's time to get tough because the honeymoon is almost over.

Terrible. Only won on the road. Only won by 7. Only won division title again. The team should be ashamed.
