Pretty surprised by last night's game although disappointing letting that lead go.

I really like the potential in Micah Potter. Could be a big time player here.

The offense overall looks a lot more fluid than the past couple years. Good off-ball movement and back cuts along with some good passing. Have read that Matta's health (back) is better than its been in years...that plus the addition of Chris Jent to the staff looks like it's paying off with these guys

^ To the point above, I agree. Lyle is decent at creating his own shot and finishing near the rim, but he's no point guard. Forced way too many passes last night that caused the huge turnover disparity
call me a homer for being from dayton. but the bucks shouldve persuaded Amos Harris to stay. he is a TRUE point gaurd that sped the game up when he got in and got everyone involved. he was a steal for New Mexico State IMO, he shouldve went to University of Dayton! Not a fan of Lyle, he wont go pro. OSU loves him to much to their own demise.

Sorry sp, but you're a homer. AJ isn't a Big 10 level player and it showed last year. Lyle will play pro. Slight chance at the NBA, but no doubt he makes a career overseas.

Bluth, agreed with Potter. I was at the game against Western Carolina and, while he's known for his offense, I came across impressed with him on defense. Not that he really locked his guy up or anything, but the fact he's a true freshman on a veteran team and he's barking out defensive assignments to the likes of Loving, Williams, Lyle, etc. Very encouraging to see.

Yeah, I don't think AJ Harris was ever going to be the answer at PG for the Buckeyes, because he simply can't shoot from the perimeter. If anyone thought he had any really good skills that Matta simply was missing, he would have gone somewhere better than New Mexico State.

Lyle really blew it forcing the ball too much last night, though. His assist to turnover ratio had been much better this season prior to last night. Matta needs to yank Lyle out of the game when he starts getting out of control to remind him that he doesn't play if he doesn't take care of the basketball.

Disappointing loss, but it's nice to know they are good enough to play with some of the very best in a true road situation. Things are looking up!

After a narrow win over Farleigh Dickinson, Bucks lose to Florida Atlantic in OT.

This aint peaks and valleys. It's hills and canyons with this team. How do you go from pushing a top 10 team to the limit on the road to struggling with these type of teams?

Homer it is!!! But Big10 type player???? The kid was just a freshman, not a one a done type deal. He DEFINATELY showed flashes and that he belonged, he is all of 5'9 and dunked on a 7 footer in the florida game, what level is that dont think Lyle will even make overseas unless he gets MUCH better, bad decision maker with ball in his hands, OSU can do better

He can shoot, had bad shooting yr no doubt. but he is a PG. He had other offers than NMS, know his dad. watched the boy all his life. shouldve went to UD instead of OSU, shouldve went to UD AFTER OSU, it was there for him and the perfect situation with the sit out yr.

What does that have to do with him not being a Big 10 level PG?

Lyle easily makes it overseas. He'll be a 2 at the next level. He's a 1 out of need.

It's certainly better than losing the NIT matchup. UConn did get a win over Syracuse at MSG, though.

It will be another year of ups and downs, but I do think the overalls results will be slightly better this season. That's pretty amazing considering they basically let go of an entire recruiting class.

The team shooting percentage is up significantly thus far for 2 point FGs, and up slightly for 3 pointers. The turnover/assist ratio is slightly more than 1 this season thus far, as opposed slightly under 1 last year.

I think that's the fundamental issue, and why the team's ceiling probably isn't any higher than a first round NCAA tournament loss.

Like last year, this team really has no true leader. If it had a true leader, that FAU loss would have never occurred.

With Loving refusing to lead, someone has to take the bull by the horns & lead. However, no one is really performing consistently enough for everyone to look up to that guy as running the show.

With these kinds of stats, who do you lean on in crunch time?

If the game is on the line and I need a play, Tate is who I'd draw something up for. The most explosive player on the team albeit not the best shooter.

Probably true, but he needs to do a lot better than 55% free throw shooting.

That's part of what made Michael Jordan so great. He was the go-to guy at crunch time, and you knew he was going to make the crucial free throws at the end of the game when you needed them.

Tate is about the last guy you want on the free throw line at the end of the game.

Big game with #2 UCLA in Vegas on Saturday. Which team will show up is the question? The one that took UVA to the wire or the one that lost to FAU.

I personally don't think it will matter which Ohio State team shows up. Hopefully the one against UVA so it's only a 10-15 point loss and not 30

^ Bruins scrapped while Bucks snoozed. They could be a pretty good team if they just put forth the effort. SOS.

They weren't going to win but there's no reason they should've trailed most of the first half with as many turnovers as UCLA had and they weren't very aware or active on defense either. Over the course of 40 it's just way to easy for UCLA to score though while OSU has to work had and has guys just standing around

No reason every team shouldn't play zone against OSU. We have guys who can win one on one battles off the dribble and at the rim, but no clue how to beat the zone. Tough when there's only one or two guys who can hit shots
