Bulldog and bop et al.,

Columbiana enrollment went from 134-126. 126 will likely be an average to small division 6 school after competitive balance kicks in.

Please explain what data supports your statements that columbiana is growing, or rapidly approaching division 5, or has "room to grow"?????

Will be interesting to see who moves again when the competitive balance is figured in.

Ok what am I missing? Columbiana is down 8 students from last enrollment.
Presumably the cutoffs will become higher due to competitive balance.
How does a decreasing student enrollment along with competitive balance indicate in any way that columbiana will become a division 5 program or that they are growing?I believe it to be quite the contrary.
Columbiana will be division 6 again, and moving closer towards division 7.
The only division 5 schools will be EP and United.
Division 6 will include columbiana and southern.
Everyone else will be division 7. This does not bode well for united and EP playoff chances. Lisbon, wellsville, and Toronto will benefit due to dropping to division 7 and playing in a league with 2 division 5 schools and 2 division 6 schools. Having to play leetonia is detrimental to everyone as well.

Not that it has anything to do with either league, I was just comparing the enrollments of both the EOAC and MVAC. Not too dissimilar.

Been nice if the D5's and D6's could have gotten together, without Waterloo.

Getting closer to next Football season.
What enrollment basis will the competitive balance bring this new league?

I know off hand 2 D5's under the old format.
Columbiana was 6 away last count, but seems for whatever reason they are getting smaller.

Any thoughts?

Schedules to post?

EP has Salem, Perry and Campbell. Based on the preliminary count and last years cut offs, looks like 2 D4's and a D5 in the OOL games. United should be D5 in a league game and the rest, 6 and most D7.

Official classifications are scheduled to be released in 2 weeks (April 6th). I'd expect the only movement of the EOAC is Lisbon moving from 6 down to 7, but it's really just a shot in the dark

I think that's accurate...we should be D7 this season. There's a good chance we end up being the second smallest school in the conference.

That's a little jaunt. I remember seeing the exit sign for it on I70.

Any idea on how good Southern is going to be this year? Do they return a decent amount? I see they scrimmage McDonald so wondering if it'll be a good gauge for the Devils (after a scrimmage with Range).

Only lost 3 starters and have around 17 current Juniors. They were pretty young last year, in terms of varsity experience. Lot of athletes and speed returning.

That's good to hear, sounds like it'll be a good team for southern the next few years. They were able to make strides to get to 4-6 last year I see. Will be a good scrimmage for both it looks like.
