Lol, misguided. I do not think the bitter comment meant any ill will. At least the smiley afterward would indicate none.

You just have to get used to east, he is like that stray dog, he smells funny and his hair won't straighten but after a while you learn to love him.

My woman? Have at er hoss, she is expensive. Lol. Was it the hair comment? There ain't a horse shampoo that can remedy those ills.

SF picked up a nice win. Burnham is tough. Glad to see what Lewis has done.

And another bad loss for SJJ over the weekend, 3-2 on the season after those great wins against Lima CC and Ross.

I think Lima Sr. was missing 3 potential starters vs Central. The huge kid who plays wide receiver and the 2 kids from Puerto Rico.

Clay had a moral victory playing St. Francis tight into the 4th quarter.

St. Johns might have woke up from a 2 game lull vs Whitmer. The Panthers are gonna be real tough down the road. 10 Fresh. and Soph. getting time on varsity.

According to last nights news this game is sold out.

Every time there is a big game like this in recent memory where an up and coming team is supposed to dethrone SJ the Titans wind up executing at a high level and showing everyone why they are the top program in the Toledo area.

Looking at this game on paper I cannot figure an edge for SF aside from confidence and this game being at home. I just do not think SF matches up well against the Titans. Can the sophomore Harris be efficient enough to guard Williams in the post? Burnham can play everywhere but he has thrived offensively beyond the arc. I would assume the 6'4" Fretti guards him like glue. Fretti certainly has the size and skill to at least damper Burnham's success.

20 years ago this game was played at Libbey or UT. Should be interesting in a crowded and tight environment.

Fun atmosphere at "The Pit" tonight. Terrible games by both Vince Williams and Houston King were made up by Tycen Anderson and Blake Williams. Hard to believe SJJ won with 27 turnovers. With Lima Senior's loss to Findlay tonight, SJJ is now in first place in the TRAC.

I did not notice this a bit? Mason Lowery called the game and he is far from a SJ homer. Matter of fact I think he is BCSN's best announcer. He understands the game, knows area history, takes great pride in getting everyone's name right plus he not a bore.

Well if you did not know who Blake Williams was before last night you certainly do now. After an hour and a half of horrid basketball his late game heroic shooting saved the day. I pray the kid's neighbors cannot stand him because he shoots buckets all day and all night. If that is not the case do not tell me because it is what I'd like to picture.

I noticed that Williams guarded Burnham but that left SJ's best defensive presence outside of the paint most of the night which allowed SF's undersized guards to drive to the hoop. Oh well, what do I know?

Williams is what? 6'5"? And holds several offers? To be a D-I post man? Houston King holds a couple offers? To be a 6'3" hair model? I certainly did not see it last night.

Whitmer goes at St John's, and 1 and a brief stare. Who ever would of thought 4 years ago what a better player Nigel is than Loving? Has a team with Loving ever overachieverd?

Loving never was a bruiser. Recall we had those discussions on these boards. He was going to be a shooter or a role player, he's hardly a role player. His game is balanced, if his team is not "over" achieving, it's not on him.

Hayes, like several of the Whitmer sports teams and members during that period for all their success probably still are just now beginning to be seen for how very talented they were.

And not to overlook Vitto Brown who is having quite a career of his own.

Loving always had poor demeanor and body language to me and that has never changed. Very talented yet carried the "losers code" with him. Teammates struggle to play "up" with a guy like him and it does not appear to be intentional.

I still cannot believe how spoiled we were 4 years ago. I watched the SF/SJ game on TV last week and for the most part it looked like a good JV game from 2010/2011/2012. Most of the better teams in the area from then would have drilled both of those teams. It just amazes me how big a talent drop off there can be in one geographical area without some anomaly to point to such as war or famine.

When was the last time SJ had two kids who would start for them walking the halls and choosing not to play basketball AND lost a 6'8" kid to transfer?

2012 and 2013. Brogan Roback and Tony Harper didn't play basketball. And they lost Ricardo Smith to Whitmer.

Your point about SJJ vs SFS being a good JV game simply isn't true. The current SJJ team would be very competitive with the SJJ team back then, probably better than the 2011 and 2012 teams. Freaking Anthony Wayne nearly beat the Rogers state final team in 2013.

Speaking of whom, I have not seen him playing for Southview. I thought you could transfer back to your home district without sitting out. Is he injured?

Roback maybe, Harper no. Smith left after (you cite 2 years). I'm talking same year. And it is a certainty that Bertscher and Gant would be starting on this years team.

I'm sorry but the SJ/CC/Whitmer teams of that era would have dialed this years SJ team.

yep. They might have been able to dial this year's all-league team.

How could this be an debate? Likely two of them are going to play in the NBA. A couple in the NFL. Roster time. Someone should have access to the rosters, picking the best year for each school, say 2009? to 2012? and matching them against the best player per position, any school this year.

Whitmer was loaded, but had a lot of competitive games in 2010-11. What made them a great team was their defense. An 8 point lead was like 15 for other teams.

Toledo Whitmer

Sylvania Southview W 55 - 44
Toledo Start W 69 - 66
Toledo Central Catholic W 48 - 40
Fremont Ross W 75 - 48
