That is a surprising UC result. Looked at the box score 2-0 at half and an 14-5 shot advantage in the first half and a 21-4 advantage in the second half. Looking at the player substitution report, after the two quick second half goals to go down 4-0,it appears MS took out the starters and played most of the second half with the second team...so if there was a silver lining she protected starters and got playing time for the rest.

The old 'pull the starters' and blame the bench players excuse... classic

Caps..mine is just an observation. Here is another 4 goals were scored on the starters and 3 goals were scored on the subs. Your "blame" is a non fact based "classic" interpretation. The outcome was decided before the subs entered.

Akron and Miami(OH) open up MAC play today

Akron (4-3-0, 0-0-0 MAC) at Miami (Ohio) (6-2-0, 0-0-0 MAC)
September 21, 2012 | 4:00 p.m.
Miami Soccer Field | Oxford, Ohio

This should give us an idea where exactly the Akron Lady Zips program is at right now...

But at that point it was your subs vs their subs. They pulled their starters too.

I'll go on record (my nonexistent credibility on the line) in predicting that Miami wins this game easily. I expect a multiple goal victory by the Redhawks.

GOOD JOB GIRLS

Keep up the good work

PS: Keep Laura Rose (Cincinnati) in your thoughts
She suffered a terrible knee injury against Syracuse
I know she will recover completely, good luck LR

I'm beating a dead horse here but so be it.

The UC women were thoroughly waxed again over the weekend. A 4-1 loss to USF on Friday and a 5-0 loss to Marquette on Sunday. They are now 1-7-0 over their last 8 games and have been outscored in those games by a 25 GA to 4 GF margin.

I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt. Playing in Florida on Friday night and at Marquette on Sunday makes a team a little road weary. They also have some injuries. Even so, this is a bad trend. Other teams face the challenges of road travel and injuries and seem to do a little better job of managing those issues. Again, it's a dead horse, but this goes back to the leadership of the team. Her leash should be shortened. I hope she is updating the resume.

You're missing alot of "local" girls that play for out of town teams. Where's Wake Forest, George Washington, Duquesne, and probably many more I'm missing.

We saw this in her early years...no game management and lack of leadership from the bench. Assistant coaches have come and gone along with her promises. She can sell the opportunity, but lacks followup. The moving truck has been started.

Heard from a source that MS was red carded at the end of the USF game and could not coach in the Marquette game? Any truth to this?

What do you mean? Each year UC is attracting better players, crowds are up and even this week UC is up in the Massey ratings (160). Ignore the little details of GA, game management and wins and losses. These are great things to put on a resume. Have you seen the competition they are playing? What is important here is consistency of play: doing the same thing over and over will eventually lead to different results. How can you say this is a bad trend? C'mon JP. Beating dead horses won't get them to rise up!

I can't tell if you were being sacrastic or not but I thought the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Wizard, the box score did not show that she received a red card during the usf game.

justsomeone, I'm pretty sure that your comments are based in sarcasm. If not, I'm not sure what you're talking about. They do have a brutal schedule but we're seeing the same thing every year. Somewhere there is a disconnect. The team has pretty decent talent and should be doing better than they are. I think that being around .500 would be good. Even if they were just a bit under .500 it would be a lot better than what we're seeing and would show some promise. Their remaining Big East games are against Georgetown, Villanova, Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Louisville. I say they need to win at least 2 of those contests or they will have a new coach next year. Even with two wins in their remaining games, they'll be 3-8-0 in big east play on the season. That is hardly a mark that should solidify Michelle's standing as the coach.

Don't know but I did see Coach Dayes go after a Syracuse player who was just red carded for cleating his goalie in the face. Both Coach and carded player had to be seperated in a scrum in front of the SU bench. This was in game and he was not carded. Unlike the UC women, the men are on a nice little run.

JP you are correct. It happened after the game was over---even worse. It was true she did not coach the MU game.

Results

UC expects results for sure. A careful look at the numbers show there is a pattern. If you go back to BSU when she took over and won 2 MAC titles (with roster and recruits from exiting coach) and then left (before her recruits were involved) and then took over UC and her best 2 years were...you guessed right - her first 2 years with another coach's recruits. Now with a full roster of "her" kids, we have very average results.

Added talking points when she is let go:

-treatment of assistant coaches, blame game, no loyalty
-treatment of kids - just ask recent grads or even some current players
-ethical issues related to club involvement, coaching/training recruits, pushing recruits to switch clubs at u18 etc....

Must be a ton of pressure to cause the current situaiton.

Time for a change. Feel sorry for the local recruits who will see a new coach.

You know, we're almost on 4 years of perfection here. The Bengals and Mike Brown almost ruined it a couple times by not not winning. Hey, the sideshows of cheerleaders, drinking, music and tailgating was the fun part and made winning passe'. I thought UC borrowed their playbook. I don't know what we would do if things changed. If UC brings in all male cheerleaders I guess I will have to watch the game. How about a Bearcat cheer!

meow.

You must have had a kid in the program too..because you are dead on every point. Grads, transfers and those who gave up the game took allot of crap from Salmon...Karma is not kind. As far as justsomeone, put down the sauce..its not even 5 o'clock yet..

Subtleties and kidding aside, I just wanted to ask you what you meant by the top two statements.

Pummelcake: here's to ya!

Based upon both of your statements, it sounds like internally there are some team culture issues. I didn't realize those kinds of things were going on. Because when you look at the past recruits quite a few of them have a decent soccer background and they wouldn't get to that level without knowing what to do. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season goes.

Cincinnati loses to seton hall... The second worse team in the big wast 3-1. They have Rutgers and Louisville left so my guess is they finish 1-10 in the big east and 4-12-1 overall. Please give me a scenario she keeps her job?!
Any good replacements out there?
