Isn't the need at CB just as great ? Lattimore ?

If they think that Peppers is going to be something between a Polamalou and a Shazier, I'm guessing they will be disappointed. Not sure he's bright enough to slash around and free-lance. His athleticism doesn't seem to be augmented by the kind of anticipation that sets a tweener-backer or even a great safety apart.

Maybe he's just film-lazy, and was able to skate some in college. If so, a pro's work ethic might help there. I'd take the CB.

I don't see Peppers as a game changer. Too small to play OLB and doesn't have the speed and cover skills to play CB. That leaves him at safety where he doesn't have the instincts or aggression to be a top notch safety.

I also don't see Watson or Corey Davis going that early.

First time I've seen Peppers in the top 10 in awhile.

I saw a stat from PFF saying Peppers gave up 58 receptions with 0 INTs and just 6 pass breakups as the primary defender over his whole career at Michigan. I also didn't see enough from a run-support/pass rush/just overall defensive playmaker to warrant using a first round pick on him. I think he'd be a good 2nd round value.

No doubt. The guy on the CFB campaigning for him for Heisman earlier this year was funny.

Mike Williams listed as 13? I don't follow pre-draft stuff too much, but this past year I watched 3 or 4 Clemson games and the way analysts talked he sounded like a lock as a top 5 pick. Plus after the NC, that couldn't have hurt his stock... Am I way off?

NFL scouts look at players a lot differently than fans and broadcasters. Who knows where some of these guys will be ultimately drafted.

I think Williams has been considered a first round lock, but I never heard discussion of him as a top-5 lock.

Curtis Samuel put up some impressive numbers at the combine. Wonder if he has a shot at first round. Same with Conley.

Would be fantastic if three Ohio State defensive backs went ahead of a guy some M*chigan fans were claiming was better than Charles Woodson
