Surprised to see Pickerington Central leading the poll 6-3 right now. Looks to be an exciting game.

PC definitely has more high end talent. It will be talent vs a very good GCL style of basketball.

I saw Pick Central at Flying to the Hoop- this is a bad matchup for Moeller. Just seems like the win streak stops here, although I'll be rooting hard against my own intuition.

PG Jeremiah Francis 15.9 ppg 6'2 Offers: Nebraska, Purdue, TCU, West Virginia, Ohio

Adrian Nelson 9.1 ppg 6'6 offers Stony Brook, Detroit, Air Force

Sterling Manley 15.2 ppg 7' committed North Carolina

Jah Blevins 8.9 ppg 6'4. If that name sounds familiar. He was the reason John Glenn won a state title.

Juan Elmore 7.9 ppg 6'4. Really strong

belvins sat out against pick north reg. final- not sure he will even play at state.

i still like pick cent in this one, their overall skill top 6-7 are a little better than moeller top 6 imo, however, the real isssue for moeller will be trying to handle jeremiah francis, that guy can flat out play

this will be good one for sure cant wait to see this up close

I was pulling for Jax to win this thing, if they beat Ed's, but after reading this lineup I gotta believe PC is the favorite at this point, even though Moeller is undefeated and ranked #1 in the polls. That's a pretty incredible starting lineup for real.

PC brings a lot of athletic length to the game. Arguably the most talented team in the tournament. If they rebound and fast break they can get transition baskets and avoid Moeller's half court defense. Moeller is tough and well coached and capable of winning but PC is loaded and very much a threat to win state.

Should be a great game but I think PC will be too much for Moeller to handle. They have play makers up and down the line up.

This all comes down to what tempo the game is played at. PC is the team with superior talent but Moeller plays much better defense. Fast tempos always favor the team with superior talent (more possessions = larger sample = more likely for better team to win). I think the break even for this game is 50. Moeller will try to slow it way down and they will clog the lane on defense with pack-line principles. If PC can pop some 3s and then force Moeller to play from behind, then I think they stand a good chance of getting out and running and pulling away. In the 30s (see regional final) or 40s favors Moeller. 50s or 60s favors PC. If either team scores 70, I would be stunned and it would mean that PC won in a blowout (note that Moeller hasn't score 70 all year).

I would not say Moeller is incapable of scoring, no doubt pace plays a part in their games but they understand how to control the game defensively. They've played 27 games and have only allowed 50+ points 4 times. Seems to me better offensive teams would want to play a slower pace because possessions mean so much more.

Moeller will finish as undefeated state champs. I have no doubt in my mind. League rival, LaSalle, may have been their biggest obstacle all season.

Have to disagree--I would say Mason shooting a 3 by their GMC POY with the score 59-57 with 2 seconds to play was Moe's biggest obstacle this season--if that shot goes in by Puisis the ball game is over and Mason moves on--sometimes it's better to be lucky than good

GMC-POY missing open three with two seconds left points to one thing. Not good enough. Better team won. Lasalle was obviously Moe's toughest competition. Get over it. GBM

You lost please move on.

Moeller played a team in Florida called Tampa sickles who was every bit as tall and athletic as Pickerington. Final score 59-41 Moeller. Teams like this don't scare Moeller. If they play the way CK has coached them they will win this Friday. Pickerington may be bigger and more athletic but I'd never bet against any team coached bu CK and his assistants, they know how to win games like these. 49-43 Moeller.

Moeller will be a tough out no doubt and I do think their style of play can frustrate and defeat PC. Moeller has faced tall, athletic teams but PC just faced a GCL type team in St. Charles with their 6'11 D1 recruit center and blew them out. Their coach Eric Krueger served under Jerry Francis when they won state in 2012 and is very good. In other words, Moeller can adapt to PC but it works both ways. Ultimately it comes down to who avoids turnovers and foul trouble.

Just not by the 10+ points as you predicted and said Moeller's 6th man was better than any Mason starter----in fact all of your predictions aren't even close--change those blue and gold blinders every once in awhile.

So...Mason was counting on luck because Moeller was so good? Was Oak hills lucky when they beat Mason? Moeller goes undeafeated against some of the best teams around the area, including beating Oak Hills who Mason lost to- but they aren't good just lucky?

KBaller always shorts in a bunch--never said anything other than "lucky" the final shot didn't go in--Moe missed the 1 and 1 free throw to put the game in Mason's best shooters hands, and as a former coach, at that point you pray it doesn't go in and know that you dodged a bullet.

Moe is good--guess you failed to point out Mason beat Oak Hills by 25 as well--just saying Mason gave them the biggest scare.

Moeller's 2 guards are very high quality, athletic, players. Moeller is not much on emotions. When things go great, terrible, good, bad, average ALL of the players are on the same page: they are looking forward to the next play. If they get rattled, I will be very surprised. I am not a Moeller guy. Those are just two points that stick out to me that may come in handy versus Pick (which I have never seen play).

Agree- Moeller is a very seasoned team this year. Kremer tends to keep kids on Frosh/JV teams rather than bump up, but quite a few of these kids have had multiple years of varsity experience, more so than usual. With the GCL schedule being a bit of a pressure cooker, the kids are well- conditioned to handle the heat of a game. Sounds like they have a tall task against PC- maybe coming in as a bit of an underdog in some people's eyes suits these very competitive players.

If Moeller can control the tempo and get on the boards with Pick Central they will have a good chance to win. It is imperative that McBride stays out of foul trouble, as he is probably the only guy who can keep Francis out of the lane constantly. In the end I think the two best teams in D1 this weekend are Pick Central and Jackson and I look for them to play for the title Saturday.
