McClearn7 is on a distinguished road
Alliance D-2 District Rankings (Off-Season #2)

Iíve started moving wrestlers around from the weights that they wrestled last year. Some of the weight shifts are based off of where the wrestlers have been competing in the off-season, some is based off of people sending me line-ups. Some of the changes are based off of how the wrestlers have grown over the last few years. A lot of the movement is pure guesswork.
I welcome any insight into where wrestlers will or may be competing next season, because I know that Iím going to be way off on many wrestlers, especially this time of year.

I paired the freshmen with the school that they were listed at on the Yappi thread about middle school state placers. If there was more than one possible school listed, I took a guess.
If there are any freshmen listed at the wrong school, feel free to let me know. Also, if there are any other wrestlers who have transferred, decided not to wrestle next year, or graduated (but I mistakenly left them in the rankings), please let me know.

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.
I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

* = unsure about participation or availability

106-
1. Kyle Rowan- Perry (2nd state)
2. Nicholas Willingham- Aurora (1st middle school state)
3. Caden Scarbrough- CVCA
4. Brendan McCrone- Lake Cath. (5th middle school state 2017)
5. Nick Barber- Canfield
6. Caiden Hart- Salem
7. Jared Biller- Edgewood
8. Kane Surrarrer- Cloverleaf

Rowan has been wrestling 106 in the off-season with some impressive results, including a state title in freestyle and a finals appearance in the world team trials.

113-
1. Jacob Decatur- CVCA (1st, 1st, 6th state)
2. Garrett Lautzenheiser- Louisville (4th state)
3. Ethan Fletcher- Canfield (SQ)
4. Jason Mayes- Jefferson (5th district)
5. Dierre Clayton- SVSM (6th district)
6. Conner Burrus- Hubbard
7. Nick Coreno- Lake Cath.
8. Robbie Sagaris- Aurora

Lautzenheiser has wrestled at this weight over the summer, and so has Burrus.
Iím not sure if Decaturís plan is to go to the Olympic training center with his brother or stay put.

120-
1. Christian Wayt- West Branch (4th, 5th state)
2. Jake Hamulak- Chardon (8th state)
3. Sean Neff- Streetsboro (6th district 2017)
4. Matthew Williams- CVCA (5th district)
5. Colin Koenig- Perry (6th district)
6. Elliot Alessia- SVSM (2nd middle school state)
7. Anthony Sagaris- Aurora
8. Ethan Smith- Lake Cath. (7th middle school state)

Koenig and Smith have both been wrestling 120 in freestyle this off-season, while Sagaris has been at 113.

126-
1. Connor McCrone- Lake Cath. (SQ, 5th state 2017, 4th 2016)
2. Davin Rhoads- Louisville (7th state)
3. Kyle Petersen- Aurora (8th state)
4. Sam Van Sickle- SVSM
5. Johnny Wayslaw- Geneva (6th district)
6. Yury Pozdneev- Orange
7. Brady Postek- Norton
8. Jacobi Smith- Northwest

McCrone and Rhoads have both been wrestling at this weight over the summer. Iíve seen Van Sickle between 132 and 138, so he may wind up above this weight.

132-
1. Jack Gorman- Aurora (6th state, 8th state 2016)
2. Ed Suber- SVSM (SQ, 7th state 2017)
3. Isaiah Smith- Field (SQ)
4. Danny Sinchock- CVCA (6th district)
5. Anthony Trivisonno- Lake Catholic
6. McCoy Watkins- Canfield
7. Alex DelGarbino- Girard (5th district 2017)
8. Mason McCarty- Marlington

Suber has wrestled this weight over the summer, though his teammates Olson and Van Sickle have wrestled between 132 and 138, so there may be some shuffling between these 3 weights during the season.

138-
1. Jordan Decatur- CVCA (1st, 1st state)
2. Hunter Olson- SVSM (5th district, SQ 2017)
3. Miles Knuckles- Coventry (SQ)
4. Dylan Fishback- Aurora (1st middle school state)
5. Carter Mickley- Louisville
6. Kaleb Kiss- Norton (6th district 2017)
7. Tommy Frazier- Lake Catholic
8. Joseph Pennington- Alliance

The district climate could change at this weight if Decatur opts to go to the Olympic Training Center as it has been suggested.

145-
1. Andy Garr- Aurora (5th state)
2. Jake Potok- SVSM (SQ)
3. Austin Pownall- CVCA (5th district)
4. Brandon Reeves- Woodridge (6th district 2017)
5. Braylin Lightner- Alliance*
6. Daniel Kennedy- Louisville (6th district)
7. Zayne Lehman- Revere
8. Derek Cain- (Akron) Springfield

Iíve seen freestyle results from Garr, Potok, and Lehman at 152, so one more may opt for the higher weight-class.

152-
1. Jax Leonard- Louisville (3rd, 8th state)
2. Dakota Ryan- Lake Cath. (5th district)
3. Sean OíDwyer- University (6th district)
4. Kaleb Dohse- Southeast (5th district 2017)
5. Zach Rodgers- Alliance
6. Jeff Dunfee- Ravenna
7. Dalton Duvall- CVCA
8. Mike Crawford- Canfield (3rd middle school state)

Leonard has wrestled 152 in freestyle this off-season. He started last season at 152 before eventually cutting to 145, so weíll have to wait and see where he goes once the season starts.

160-
1. Will McGhee- Aurora (5th state)
2. David Reinhart- Canfield (SQ)
3. Chris Anderson- Streetsboro
4. Liam Fagan- Coventry
5. Brody Stallings- Cloverleaf
6. Jesse Kanatzar- Tallmadge
7. Jaidyn Sapp- Southeast (4th middle school state)
8. Caleb Selman- Geneva

Tallmadge has wrestlers ranked from 160-195, and I kept them at last yearís weights for the time being. If one wrestler grows in that range, we could see everyone above him shift up a weight.

170-
1. Hank Carey- Streetsboro (SQ 2017)
2. Austin Hinzman- Coventry
3. Richie Eyre- Tallmadge (5th district)
4. Ben Cutrer- Canfield (6th district)
5. Ethan Anderson- Aurora
6. Donald Otto- Norton
7. Steven Marra- West Branch (3rd middle school state)
8. Gino Fornaro- W. Geauga

The Andersons moving to Aurora adds depth in the middle to upper weights for a team that will be competing for a district title at seasonís end. Ethan was a district qualifier for (Lima) Shawnee last year, and Evan was a middle school state champion.

182-
1. Anthony DíAlesio- Canfield (3rd, 4th state)
2. Cole Hivnor- Lake Catholic (5th state)
3. Zak Crissman- SVSM
4. Nate Amato- Tallmadge (6th district)
5. Brent Paulus- Louisville
6. Neil Ginnetti- West Branch
7. Evan Anderson- Aurora (1st middle school state)
8. Connor Toth- Jefferson

Paulus and Ginnetti have wrestled as high as 195 in freestyle during the off-season, but Iím guessing that theyíll find their way back down to this weight.

195-
1. Nick Crawford- Canfield (5th state)
2. Colin McNamara- Aurora (SQ)
3. Kenny Marra- West Branch (SQ)
4. Mike Lobosky- Chardon*
5. Noah Wray- Lake Cath.
6. Ben Blankenship- Tallmadge (6th district)
7. George Lineberger- SVSM (3rd middle school state)
8. Jack Kerlee- Woodridge

Marra has wrestled at 195 during the freestyle season, so Iím guessing thatís where heíll be once the season starts. Crawford wrestled 182 in the off-season, though I believe the tournament had a weight allowance.

220-
1. Tyler Stein- Canfield (1st state)
2. Breslin Walker- CVCA (SQ)
3. Blake Robbins- Louisville (SQ)
4. Jacob Petit- Hoban (6th district)
5. Deíonte Williams- Canton S.
6. Lucas Pritchett- Ravenna
7. Ethan Depp- Revere
8. Dante Leone- Aurora

Stein starts the year off ranked 11th in the nation by Flo Wrestling.

285-
1. Jack DelGarbino- Girard (1st, 4th state)
2. Riley Brendle- Louisville (5th district)
3. Matthew Holman- CVCA (5th district 2017)
4. Peyton Kostelic- Canfield*
5. Connor Franks- Tallmadge*
6. Jacob Hurst- West Branch
7. Garrett Webster- Edgewood
8. Alec Gonzalez- Perry

DelGarbino enters the season ranked 7th in the country by Flo.

Team:
1. Aurora
2. Canfield
3. CVCA
4. Louisville
5. SVSM
6. Lake Catholic
7. West Branch
8. Tallmadge

Aurora may have become the district title favorites with the addition of the Andersons as well as two other middle school state champions in Willingham and Fishback.
I would drop CVCA below Louisville if Jordan Decatur is indeed going to the Olympic Training Center.

A special thanks to Boro Fan for all the insight into the weights of the wrestlers, Baumís Page and Jakeís Wrestling for all of the results that they provide, and to any of the other wrestling nerds that actually read these things.

If Jordan will be at the OTC I would pick Fishback to win 138. Louisville is going to be tough to beat but Canfield I believe will still win the district. Lake Catholic will be a lot better come the end of the season with the new coaching staff. Going to be a fun district this year.
