The downside is that the communities aren't supporting basketball like they did in the past. Having a game at a neutral site means that neither side brings much of a crowd in the sectional games. By having the higher seed host, at least one team usually brings a good crowd.

Not sure anything the OHSAA does will bring back the local support of all teams so I lean toward going back to neutral sites. Just wish more communities would support their teams at these games.
Southeast has the best set up. Everyone wants to play at the convo. It has the biggest attendance compared to other areas and it covers Manchester to Steubenville. The Columbus D1 is sad. They play at high school gyms and then play at a tiny college

I do wish we were able to pick your own path and home games for the Sectional

I can think of 2 reasons:

1) Regular season ends a week earlier in the southern part of the state.

2) Gives teams more time to scout early round tournament opponents.

Make the tournament uniform throughout the state.

Some districts have neutral sites, some have home court. Some have pre determined placement based on seed, others let the teams choose. Regionals/districts should have an equal number of teams (where possible)

Division 1

Toledo/Akron (47 teams) - 10,11,13,13
Cleveland (50 teams) - 12,12,13,13
Columbus (47 teams) - 12,12,12,11
Cincy (51 teams) - 13,13,13,12

In D2 there are some districts with 9 teams and others with 15.
