The winner would have a potential tough matchup with Brush or Mentor in Regionals. The Canton District has always played well went at CSU though.

Not sure who this District matches up with (I think I saw Euclid), but I donít see the winner of the District winning a game at regionals. Not a knock, this is a deep group, but no really talented team, as in years past.
We will get a good look at a potential regional semifinal when Jackson hosts Mentor later this month. I agree that the Euclid winner will be a favorite, but no guarantee.

Damn, Dover gets dogged, but I’m not surprised. Boardman/Dover will be a good second rounder.

Dover barely beat a bad Massillon team.
They apparently have played nobody.
Not shocked.

Great draw for Boardman. Would only need to beat 2 Fed teams...

That game against Massillon was a girls game.

Dover boys hoops schedule:
Cleveland Max Hayes
Wooster
at Minerva
at Marietta
Zanesville
at Warsaw River View
Meadowbrook
Meadville (PA) (Brooke (WV) Holiday Tournament Semifinal)
Brooke (WV) (Brooke (WV) Holiday Tournament Consolation)
at Cambridge
New Philadelphia
at Coshocton
at Indian Valley
at Zanesville
Cleveland John Adams
Warsaw River View
at Meadowbrook
Cambridge
at New Philadelphia
-----Seeding Time-----
Marietta
Coshocton
Hoover

Losses were both by 3 pts. to Meadville and in the 1st New Philly game. Yeah, that schedule isn't doing Dover any favors come seeding time.

I’d agree. Also nice to see us get the benefit of playing an opponent who has to travel a long distance. Similar to us having to head to Wooster last year.

It is surprising how much more respect Boardman received than Dover though.

No complaints though. I’m good with where we are seeded and the bracket.

Boardman got a fair shake. D2 Louisville played a better schedule than Dover.

Boardman should have a nice prep game for the tournament on the road at Louisville this Tuesday. Looking over their schedule, it seems like they've played a pretty good schedule for a borderline D-2/D-1 team and been pretty competitive with some of Feds better teams including a win over Hoover. Considering how competitive they were vs the upper half of the Fed, I'm a little surprised they lost to Canfield who is solid, but a team Boardman had no trouble with on the road by 25 or so. Their other games vs Youngstown area teams are about what I would've expected given other results.

Seems like Louisville would be a 6-7 type seed in Canton so it should be a 2nd rd type equivalent game, except on the road. Seems like on paper they may pretty similar caliber to Dover.

Boardman might be able to beat any team in the district on any given night, but many Fed. coaches probably wonder if they had to play the Fed. schedule week in and week out, would they still have three losses?
Turns out most Federal League coaches gave Boardman considerable respect. McKinley, Hoover, Green, and Jackson voted for the Spartans to get the 3rd seed.

Little love came from GlenOak (voted them a #9 seed), Massillon (voted them a #8 seed), and Lake (voted them a #7 seed).

Seems fair. Glad to see a little respect for the Spartans.

Will be interesting to see how Boardman's Tuesday game vs Louisville plays out.

Green will play the winner of #7 Lake and #10 Wooster. They also play Wooster next Friday @ Wooster.

Winner and Loser in this seeding........

Loser = Dover - Get to play Massillon who they should beat then have to travel to Boardman. That might be the longest drive in Ohio for a 2nd game.

Winner - its a Tie and they will pay each other - Lake/Wooster. Avoid McKinley and Jackson - Winner still faces Green in the second round, but waiting on Jackson or Mckinley until Civic Center could be big.

I've got to ask how did GlenOak and McKinley end up in Jackson side of the bracket. It sure looks like Hoover and Green got the better draws.

The lower seeds play the higher seeds in this predetermined format. The people doing the seed voting don't seem to agree with you.

Jackson has already beaten them both twice so its not exactly a tough out for Jackson and they both ended up in 6th and 7th place in the league of 7 teams?

Hopefully the final is a Green- Jackson rubber match. Would be fun to watch. But I definitely dont think it's a "Green and everyone else" district.

Well generally the 1 seed would play the 13th seed or at least that's the way it was in years past. If you pin any coach against the wall he would tell you he would rather play the last seed instead of the 8th or 9th seed they've already beaten twice. We'll see.

You're a little confused. With the predetermined brackets used here and also by the NCAA, the #1 seed plays the #16 seed. However, there are only 13 teams in this district. So, the first three seeds get byes in the first round.
