What are the current Fed standings/records? I imagine the top team from the Fed has the best shot at the top seed. Boardman is getting votes in the AP poll, but since they’re not in the Fed anymore, I don’t think they will have the support for a top seed.

Pretty balanced district.

Boardman is 14-3 and on a 10 game winning streak beating teams by 20+.

They lost to Glenoak early in the year when they had 2 starters out so we'll see what ends up happening. Coach Birch has these kids dialed in playing well together.

It will be interesting to see what respect Dover and Boardman get here. Will the Federal League give them a 3 or 4 seed? or do they fall to a 5, 6 or 7? FL is very balanced this year. McKinley is very dangerous at .500 right now. The bottom 3 will probably be Barberton, Massillon and then Fitch. Anyone from 1-10 can with this District on the right night.

Dover is 15-2, with a 3 point loss to 15-4 Meadville, PA and 3 point loss to a one loss New Phila team. Typically, Dover doesn't get a lot of respect from the Federal league teams because they are not from Stark Co and frankly the ECOL is not a strong basketball conference so the record is hard to compare. Dover will be viewed mainly on the outcome of their final regular season game at home against North Canton.

The seeds come out Sunday so the game vs North Canton isnt going to play into the seeding.

and I believe voting starts Thursday and ends Saturday @ noon, so tonight's games would technically be the last to be considered. I believe coaches have to submit season resumes and comments by tomorrow @ midnight.

Since the voting ends Saturday at noon, teams could also wait and take Friday night's games into consideration before voting. I'd think the Jackson-Green game would draw some attention.

Will be a very wide open and fun district.

Don’t see the winner advancing any farther though.

I'm assuming the top 3 seeds will get first round byes. Is that the way everyone else sees it?

Yes, that is how it is set up now. Bracketed like the NCAA tourney.

Traditionally and it appears this year this is the weaker D1 district in the area.

I’m similar, though I think they will put Boardman ahead of Dover.

Curious as to thought process. No love for Green? Identical record with Jackson and Green beat Jackson handily AT Jackson. I believe Green won every quarter and Jackson was never in the game?? I know lifes not fair and all in all it doesn't really matter but if the voting was today and Jackson got the nod over Green that'd be ridiculous!

couple of scenarios:

1) winner of Jax/Green gets 1 seed
2) Mckinley beats Hoover and jumps to 6 or 7 and Hoover gets 5
3) Winner of Lake/Perry 6, 7, 8 - Depends on #2
4) Phila beat Dover - no real movement

I pretty much agree. I see the winner of this Friday's Jackson-Green game getting the #1 seed and the loser getting #2.

My guess was Jackson-Green winner would be 1 and loser 2. Boardman at 3. 4 between Hoover and Dover. Hoover at 4 with win vs McK and Dover loss.

I’m not sure how much detail each coach provides to district coaches, Boardman has only one loss with their full team. They were down a few starters and a few reserves in their first 4 due to suspensions.

Plus they have just been clicking all-around the last month . Playing some very good team ball on both ends of the court. They’ve been a fun team to watch - lots of athletes, play extremely hard and are 10-11 deep. Everyone has bought into playing D and their role.

Not saying that Boardman isn't deserving of a 3 seed, BUT the thing Boardman has going against them is all seven federal league teams are going to look out for each other. In my opinion, I think the highest seed they get is a 5. I think Lake and Hoover might be seeded ahead of them. Again, not saying it's the truth, just my opinion. Boardman might be able to beat any team in the district on any given night, but many Fed. coaches probably wonder if they had to play the Fed. schedule week in and week out, would they still have three losses?

What area? Over the past 15 years, Stark County teams (Jackson, McKinley, GlenOak) have carried NEO in the state tournament.

I agree, this district is loaded with the exception of the bottom three, any of the other 10 could win this although I'd say Glenoak would really have to catch fire and with Lake offense not real sure either but they do play d and a slowed down game. As for Boardman, they should be a top 3 seed but yes they do have 7 fed coaches and an ex fed coach that knows most of these teams against them. Not sure how Massillon or Fitch would go?
