McDonald will definitely be a team to deal with the 2nd half of the season.

In reference to Bulldog's post, I say it ever year. I miss the trips to and rivalries with East Palestine, Columbiana, Leetonia, Lisbon, and Crestview.

I always enjoyed the people of Southern and Wellsville, but HATED the trips, especially on Tuesday nights.

Theyíve been playing well, won 5 out of 6. But weíll see over the next 3 games how much better theyíve gotten: at Waterloo, at Valley Christian, vs Springfield

Sebring was a huge roundball rivalry due to Brook being an EP Alumni. Lots of great games, upsets and 5 cent officiating, some of those refs weren't worth a plugged nickle.

Sebring hosts Leetonia, heads to WR, then hosts JM. Hopefully the Trojans can turn those close games into wins.

Did I hear right that an Italian foreign exchange student that Zach Rasile played with on his trip to Italy is coming to play for McDonald? And LIVE with the Rasile family?! And that the son and Dad left the game early to go get him at the airport yesterday? Is OHSAA really allowing this? you Rasile supporters on here have seen and heard it all, but is this ok? Is it ok that halfway through the year heís basically telling his team that they arenít good enough, and we need to bring a foreign kid in? If any of this is true, they should all be ashamed of themselves.

Seems to be the newest rum*r. Could you imagine the backlash if it were another school in the league doing this? Can't imagine the comments by Rasile in the paper the first chance he got to give his opinion on another school pulling this stunt.

So is this the first foreign exchange student to come to the US and play high school sports? Girard won a state basketball championship with a kid from the Bahamas and Campbell did the same thing. And Kennedy Catholic had a kid from Africa AND a kid from Italy when they won their State Championship. So give me a break with the whining.

pretty sure this has been out there for awhile, while i'm not sure why he hasn't already been over here but I doubt they would of went through all this trouble before clearing it with the OHSAA(which they did)

And here they come!! Did any of those exchange kids live with the head coach? Or have the head coach see him play on a trip? Or leave a game BEFORE it ends to go to the airport? Blue devil 81 will continue to defend this as though itís normal, but the message was sent to the other kids on McDonald team; you are not even worth me staying at a game to watch you play. Itís wrong, and if you donít think itís wrong, shame on you.

Lol...some of you guys are funny.
I have no info about this kid from Italy but I'm sure it was planned for a long time
Is he even any good?
Is there a rule against it?
When I was in school we had an exchange student from Germany. He was incredible at ping pong.
To bad we didn't have a ping pong team.
Girard had an exchange student from the Bahamas I believe back in the mid 90's. They won a state championship with his help.
Was there a problem with that?
Unless this kid is a prodigy not gonna make a huge difference but it will be interesting to find out.

No one said it was right when Girard did it, and yes there are rules for athletic intent. The kids from Girard sat forever until he was finally ruled eligible. The idea that heís possibly living with the head coach makes this a much larger issue

McDonald fans defending this of course. Again what do you expect. If shoe was on other foot I can't even imagine!

Did these schools that were cited have students come in during mid season?

While I could be wrong, I do believe that exchange students HAVE to live with a host family

So exchange student, if any good, is one reinforcement.
You said reinforcements..who is the other.
Unless the team gets some height will team be any better? Could work against progress they made thus far.

According to OHSAA rules for exchange students the kid from Italy would be eligible for maximum 1 year. But under Bylaw 4-8-1 exception 2 guidance I wonder how Coach Rasile talked his way through exception D....

d. There shall be no evidence of a direct placement for athletic purposes into a specific member school in Ohio.

That would have been an interesting arguement ....

beaker is right. All of you McDonald haters are getting your underwear all up in a bind and you haven’t even seen this kid play. Lol. And would it make you feel better if he moved in with some other family in McDonald? That being said, I hope he is awesome and helps us get to Columbus.
