I have no words what I just watched. The refs were horrible on both sides, maybe a little more against Princeton but I may be biased. Both teams played extra hard and both coaches coached a good defensive game other than taking long possessions. Im just butt hurt after this one

Just looking at the box score I'd say both teams need to stop shooting so many 3's.

Both teams played great zone defense. But it was just 1min, 2min 1 shot possessions on both sides. But hey both these teams know each other very well

Stop shooting 3's for both teams, and it looks like free throws are what lost it for Princeton. Otherwise the game looks pretty clean as far as the box score goes. Both teams in single digits for turnovers with OH only having 4.

I agree Princeton has shot poorly from the free throw line the last 10 games or so. 2 or 3 of the fouls were a little suspect in my opinion against Princeton, but they turned the ball over too much. Again Oak Hills won this game, I just hate the long possessions in any game. I'm just butt hurt and I will get over it lol

Definitely congrats to East. I was at the game when the big guy got injured. I thought East went ahead and won that game on emotions and the rest of the season would be rough. Wow, was I wrong.

While it was a one-sided game in favor of Princeton this year, they normally combine for more points in football LOL.

I'm not sure what you mean by this because all 3 of those officials are very good with one of them working in Columbus for the state tourney on several occasions. The big problem in games like that is every possession means so much because they are so limited and everything is magnified. I do agree with your overall point of that not being basketball though.

The NBA and the NCAA gain from increased fan interest so they are motivated to increase action and scoring. OHSAA has little motivation to change the sport. A marginal increase in ticket sales wouldn't make much difference to the organization.

GMC teams are shooting around 33% from 3-point range this year. If a shot clock were to be introduced, that would likely fall well below 30% (just an opinion, but I believe an educated guess). That's not good for the game.

Those that call for a shot clock often assume that shots aren't being taken, but often the case is that bad shots are being taken. A shot clock will only exacerbate that.

This thread from earlier this year shows people equate low scores with stall ball, but 93 field goals were taken in the game:

I was and still am a shot clock guy but it does not fix bad basketball. The shot clock does not fix a bad field goal percentage.

I'm definitely a shot clock guy myself, but I know a shot clock would not fix everything. But I really think some teams would take better shots and have more thought out possessions if they had a time limit to shoot. I just wish they could do it in summer basketball to see the outcome over the next few years. I just think these kids are smart enough to adapt to a shot clock

Guys no games are played in a vacuum and each game is played out differently. The first time OH and Princeton played OH led 47-29 after 3 quarters facing a Princeton MTM defense that could not stop OH offensively--they scored at will and eventually won 69-54. Each team took 43 shots--OH was 25 for 43 at 58%-- and it was an easy victory for OH. Good coaches watch tape!!

I'm sure Princeton Coach Wright said "we have to do something different" this time around to stop OH and get the score down to where it was a winnable game--so Princeton came out in a 1-2-2 zone and forced OH to make more passes each possession than usual and probably take more 3 pointers to score as the 1-2-2 forces a team farther out on the court. Kudos to Coach Wright for giving his team a chance to win inside the last 15 seconds of the game---OH hit 6/6 free throws to close out the win. OH did a great job having only 4 turnovers against a very quick Princeton team--OH earned a very good road win.

To me it was a hard-fought game that had crucial possessions each and every time down the court which led to an exciting game even at 32-29---it's high school bball in February with both teams laying it on the line!!
