If I'm not mistaken, I think you blamed Poff for Madison's only loss this past season. When games are won, we give credit to the players. Even in losses, the blame can go to the players as well.
One small detail, Northridge knows who their money man is. Madison had the best player on the court and he should have had the ball. I did not say that Smith was a bad coach. He has won his fair share of games.

Poff made the call: run it up the middle, on the last play of the game. Blah, blah, blah. Now, the cupboard is bare, and, like many high school coaches before him, at different schools across Ohio, he thinks that it is time to resign. How convenient.

Not a big fan of how they do seeding. Northridge got a good 4 seed but they don’t play anyone lower than a 9 seed to get to district championship. There are other 4 seeds that play 12 and 13 seeds. Their first opponent is a 7 seed. What’s the incentive of getting a good seed if you have to play another high seed the very first game?

If this situation is the same as other sw district tournament seeding meetings ( and I almost certain it is), it goes like this. Coaches vote for seeding online. They meet today and then get to choose where they place their team in the bracket based on their seed. first seed chooses first, second seed next and down the line. a coach may choose to pass if he/she wishes. So, in this case, Northridge chose its spot and when the 7 seed came to its turn, that coach either decided that the best available spot for his team was to play Northridge or he passed and chose that spot later in the rotation. It is not a random draw. the 7,8 and 9 seeds in this district apparently felt that their best chance to win was to choose to be in the bracket with Northridge rather than in the other brackets.

Indians lose tonight to TVS. Wraps up the season 5-17. definitely a disappointing and frustrating season to watch. Hope the boys can pull together and play with some pride in the tournament.

Smith is the poster boy for not scheduling himself out of a job. They play a weak schedule. They could strengthen it just by playing some teams in the Southwest division. The only one they play every year is Monroe who is usually one of the weaker teams. Call Franklin, call Bellbrook. Games against teams in higher division will only help you come tournament time.

That is a common theme amongst some coaches. I know a former coach that scheduled the likes of Middletown Christian. Then the fans wonder how their 18 win team got blasted by 30 in the first game of the tourney.

The players definitely won the National Trail game for Madison. Watching the refs and the coach was painful.

Well he made big mistake missing his turn in the tourney draw. Now he has to meet national trail sectionals then Purcell in districts. Good luck with that

It's called the Trotwood factor. Everyone that could in that sectional determined that they have a far better chance of winning 2-3 games against better seeds than of winning once against Trotwood, thus seeds 2-7 filled the opposite bracket. The 7th seed, Graham, took the last spot in Northridge's bracket. They'd rather go through Northridge, Kenton Ridge (#3 seed), and either the 2, 5 or 6 seed to try to get to districts than face Trotwood. The same thing happened last year. None of the D2 Springfield sectional teams with a prayer to advance to the district will go in Trotwood's bracket.

How often does the state reclassify the schools as far as divisions for Basketball?

With competitive balance schools are reclassified every year. Hopefully this is the end of D1 for Franklin. They have been the smallest D1 school in the state the past two years, problem is they only graduate 3 seniors so i don't know if that will be enough. This year their boys enrollment was 352 but competitive balance added 10 so they were 362, 361 would have put them D2, I look for Trotwood to move up to division 1 with opening up open enrollment as well, they were 361 already without open enrollment.

Did he really miss his turn or is that a rumor. I am not insulting you. I am just wondering if someone may have heard part of the Middies story and started a whole new story.

The game was a foul fest. The shooting was terrible. Have you ever seen that many air balls and shots bouncing off of the backboard in your life? Those bricks were not a result of fouls, or defense, either. Waynesville did get hot in the second half, obviously. Bad SWBL basketball.

Nice win for Oakwood. The Jacks beat the press and the half court zone trap, made everything they put in the air all night but particularly in the 3rd quarter, and the 'Cats shooting percentage was very low. Franklin will need to play much better to stay with Fairmont in their first tourney game next week.

Northridge shouldíve won the league. Destroyed waynesville by 30 at waynesville If it wasnít for Northridge a second best player being out the first six games they wouldíve beat preble and waynesville the first time they played. But happy for waynesville taking it to Madison.
