IMO, it is going to come down to Colonel Crawford, South Central or Lucas. South Central and Lucas both have players that can take over a game. Simon Blair for South Central and Logan Niswander for Lucas. Both are averaging 20+ per game. Colonel Crawford is probably the deepest of the three.

Should be a great district tournament for sure.

Top 8 have a chance to win a game or two. There could be some upsets that could shake it all up. Will be interesting to see seeding next week

Crawford seems like a solid choice, but I'm keeping an eye on Margaretta. Their schedule may prepare the Polar Bears for a deep run.

Technically the seeds must be in before the meeting

Lucas lost to Northmor hurts them, Monroeville lost to BC, Crestline beat Wynford. Friday and Sat are some big games to finalize seeding.

I could be wrong, but at least in Central District I believe coaches submit their records on Friday morning, seeding takes place Saturday morning, and the coaches pick their spots in the bracket on Sunday in order of the seeds. Is it like that for this District as well? If that's the case, Friday and Saturday games would certainly be noted by coaches but wouldn't officially go on their records and seeding lists.

Definitely a bad loss for Lucas. A win Friday vs St. Peters will help them.

I think record wise you are right that they are submitted thursday or friday and I think you can wait to cast your seeding votes until after saturdays games but with teams playing that night coaches will probably submit them on saturday and not have to mess with it that night. It should be interesting to see how this one plays out and who goes where.

Big one tonight!

11-5, Lucas (8-0 in MBC conference) vs 11-6, Mansfield St. Peter's (7-1 in MBC conference). Game is being played in Lucas. A Cub win gives them the outright MBC title. Also will put them at 12 wins (maybe 13 if they beat Fredericktown Saturday) before the draw Sunday, unless the records are submitted earlier like people have posted.

Either way, this is a phenomenal district! Cannot wait for tournament basketball!

Looking at the bio for Lucas, what are their quality wins? St. Peter's and ??

Probably the #5 at this point. Where will they decide to go on the bracket?

I hate the whole "who have they beaten" argument. SMH. All the Lucas losses are on the road...

DII #22 ranked Clear Fork (16-3), DIII #18 ranked Norwayne (17-3), DIV #30 ranked South Central (15-3) with the other two losses to teams near .500 in DIII Northmor and DIII New London.

Lucas is a quality team that could win this district. They have an All-NWD player in Logan Niswander who can take over games when needed. 4 of their 5 losses came down to the final minutes. They are undefeated at home and in conference. These guys are pretty damn good.

I think all the first round games will be close. Mansfield Christian has been playing tough and that zone can give people fits. St Pete and Plymouth played earlier this year and came down to the end. Crestline and Monroeville have not played but very similar teams. Buckeye central has some height and could keep it close with a Lucas team who is looking onto St Paul.

I agree with you regarding Mansfield Christian. Lucas beat them by 54 early in the year, but only by 8 a few weeks ago. They are getting better.

What kind of height does BC have? Lucas isn't very tall, but have great guards.

What kind of height does BC have? I know the Biglin kid can play, but other than him, they have any depth?

MaxPreps is a pretty good indicator for ballpark rankings, but it's tough when the schools are so close (e.g. last 4 teams on your list). I don't think it takes into consideration recent performances and it definitely doesn't account for any injuries, but I appreciate you putting those up here for reference!

I could really see any of the top 6 advancing, but Colonel Crawford is my pick.

If Lucas can slip by BC and St.Paul, which I think they can, that CC vs Lucas game is going to be a great one. CC is smarting from a recent beatdown vs DII Lexington. Lucas is 10-1 vs DIV teams with their only loss coming on the road, by 6, at South Central. That game was a 2 point game with 30 seconds left.
