I not sure that is kosher. He might have received some assistance through Facts but 100%? Don't think that's legit. I know some Private schools will give 100% based on academics and entrance test results. Maybe 1 or 2 students per class. I understand you are just repeating what you heard but ...

Ok so like 20-25 miles from his house to Alter.

That's my guess from that area - 2 round trips a day - I don't know the exact address

Yep ....just repeating exactly what I was told. I have no understanding of how the Catholic schools work or what is legit or not.

According to Google Maps, it's 14.4 miles from Alter to Fairborn High School, via I-675.

And, Ballboy, you obviously don't know anything about how Catholic schools work, or about Alter.

Best wishes for Trevor and his family. We'll miss him if he leaves Alter. My guess is that he'll miss Alter, also. Sometimes life is tough.

BTW, when I was a freshman and sophomore, I lived in Mason and went to Moeller, about as far as from Fairborn to Alter. My family went to Catholic schools, and Moeller was the closest to home for me. Could have walked to William Mason High School. That was before Mason High School was a college-style campus, but it wouldn't have mattered. My parents just believed in Catholic schools, and we made the sacrifice. Nothing unusual for Catholic kids to travel that far to obtain a Catholic education. As a sophomore I also took Algebra II three days a week and plane and solid geometry five days a week simultaneously. Along with English, American history, Latin, biology, health, and of course, theology. Got an outstanding education at Moeller and Alter. Learned a couple things about football, too.

Trevor and his mom lived in (Clark County) north of Fairborn (Greene County) but moved to Fairborn a little over a week ago. That accounts for the disparity in mileage. And I must agree with you. As I stated before, I have no idea what-so-ever how Catholic schools work. All I know about Alter is that they have had good football teams ever since I started coaching in the area in the early 1980's. My son almost went there following 8th grade but played for Fairborn, his buddy & Junior High teammate Dusty Hayes did go there.

Now a days the students on the college path take Algebra 1 in 8th grade for high school credit and Algebra II in 9th grade at Fairborn. I have no doubts at all that the Catholics give a great education though. They always have.

I'm sure Trevor and his mom appreciate the kind regards and I am sure he will miss Alter. Yes, life can be tough. Fairborn has good kids with a small hometown atmosphere. Better kids than a lot of places I have been. Even when they are losing they have one of the best student fan bases in the GWOC. They are welcoming Trevor with open arms.

Looks like you are correct Irwin. I asked Trevor today and he said that he and 1 other person, a girl, got what he calls scholarships in his whole class.

I was just looking at the GCL website. It shows Fenwick with a 9 game season and CJ with only 8 games. Is this correct?

Word on the street is that the City of Cincinnati approved the installation of lights @ McNick's Penn Station Stadium. I don't know how quickly they can get this done. Certainly not in time for Turpin Week 1.
