Cool 2017 Northwest Conference

Do you think the results will be the same or different from 2016?

Delphos Jefferson 7-0
Spencerville 6-1
Ada 5-2
Crestview 4-3
Allen East 3-4
Grove 2-5
Bluffton 1-6
Paulding 0-7

Who is moving up, down ect..?

1. Ada (6-1)
1. DJ (6-1)
3. Crestview (5-2)
4. Grove (4-3)
4. Spencerville (4-3)

I see Ada potentially losing to Crestview
I see DJ Losing to Ada
..... I know that this is probably not gonna happen, but I hear good things about those three teams this year, should be an interesting 2017 NWC season

In my opinion the conference will be decided between Ada and Spencerville when the two meet. Jefferson lost a LOT, including their head coach (who is now at Spencerville). Brennan Auer is the real deal, but he's the show. There's not much behind him. Crestview will also be tough with junior QB Drew Kline. They lost their offensive and defensive lines (for the most part), so they won't be as strong up front. Bluffton has the strongest backfield with Jefferson and Bricker. However, they might have the worst line in the conference behind possibly Paulding, and they have no QB. So, if I had to pick an order I would go with:

1. Ada - This has to be their year. They have nothing behind this senior group.
2. Spencerville - I'll be curious to see how they look. They have a new HC, and a new OC (former Bluffton HC Kyle Cutnaw). If they try to reinvent the wheel, it could be a rough year for Spencerville.
3. Crestview - They have some really nice skill players back. Kline makes anything possible.
4-6. Allen East, Bluffton, Jefferson - I think any of these three could fill any of these spots. Just depends who develops first and who has injuries.
7. Columbus Grove - They weren't very good last year. Nothing tells me they'll get better.
8. Paulding - Poor, poor Paulding.

With that group I don't see that happening. Very smart group of coaches.

Agreed, but Cutnaw is a spread guy. If Spencerville attempts to go back to the spread...ouch. I don't think they will, but who knows with new coaches? The last time Spencerville attempted the spread it was a train wreck.

The conference has teams in 3 different divisions and 4 different regions this year
NWC has teams in
D5 Region 5:Paulding
D6 Region 22: Ada & Columbus Grove
D6 Region 24:Allen East, Bluffton, Delphos Jefferson & Spencerville
D7 Region 28: Crestview

Right now I see Ada, Delphos, Spencerville, & Crestview with the best chances of making the play offs, but don't count AE out

They aren't. Saw them last week scrimmage Shawnee and they did throw the ball more than in the past but it'll be the same basic premise this year as it has been in the past....run run and run some more.

So how did the teams look in their scrimmages this year? Any thoughts on week one match ups?
Watched Ada/Lima Perry scrimmage last night and was surprised at the amount of running plays the Dogs ran. no where close to 50/50, but they did run more plays than in last few years.
Week 1 match up against Upper Scioto Valley: Could be a good game, numbers may hurt USV but they do have some talent that could make this game close

After 1st week of conference play, it looks like Crestview might be a slight favorite so far, Others thoughts on how the season as went so far for NWC teams?

It looks like Crestview is going to run away with the conference and possibly land in the top spot in their region. Outside of that, Ada has a shot and Jefferson/Spencerville have long shots of making the playoffs. Not only is the NWC down, it is down to two teams that can even potentially win one playoff game

Well - looks like Crestview, Crestview, and Crestview. The decline in this league is shocking

Spencerville has their RB back. Playing in the division they are in.....it will take them beating Crestview this week to stay in the playoff hunt. Have Four MAC teams ahead of them to compete with. Expect a knock down, drag it out for Crestview against Spencerville, Jefferson, and Ada this season. All are still playing for playoff hopes
