Nice day for Highland Athletics yesterday.

Boys soccer beats Wadsworth 3-1 to win it's 2nd outright Suburban League title in 4 years, and it's first perfect season in the Suburban league. Highland has the #1 seed for the district playoffs... Both us and Revere are tied at 7 in the state rankings, that is despite us beating them 4-1 this season... That will be a tough game, but if we can get by them we should be district champs. That'll likely set us up against Bay, the #1 team in the state. Bay is the team that ended the last Suburban League Champ's run when the current Seniors were Freshman in a penalty shootout. That would be a heck of a game.

That isn't everything!
The girls golf team cruised to an unbelievable 303 (15-over) team score at the district championships to take first. Next for them is states, and they are certainly in contention for Highland's first state title since the early 80's in any sport.

''We are going [there] to beat Mason, that's our goal,'' Porvasnik said.

Highland finished eighth last year at the state tournament.

''It will be awesome,'' McRae said. ''Now we know the course. We know how it feels to play at state, so we won't be as nervous.''
That is what I like to hear!

LOL I posted the same thing 2 minutes after you, although you were more detailed. There is also a write up in the PD(Cleveland.com) on the girls golf team.
