With most teams having 3-4 games to play prior to the voting for seeds beginning Thursday February 8th I have seeds 1-7 being as follows based on head-to-head games, strength of schedule, and also common opponents wins/losses:

#1--Moeller -- 13-3
#2--Princeton -- 12-3
#3--St. Xavier -- 12-4
#4--Oak Hills -- 12-4
#5--Walnut Hills -- 14-3
#6--Mason --11-3
#7--Lakota East -- 10-6

OH @ Princeton 2/2; Moe at Springfield 2/3; Mason @ East 2/6; Moe @ St. X 2/9; Walnut @ St. X 2/10 (but votes will already be in)--upcoming big games!!

My best guess as to how the draw will go:

Moe
Princeton
Mason
X
Walnut
Oak Hills
Winton Woods
East
Hamilton
LaSalle
West Clermont
Wilmington
Elder
Sycamore
Withrow
Northwest
Western Brown
Milford

Everyone Else...

Moe and Princeton will basically have byes to Districts and the other 3 brackets will be filled with seeds 3-20.... It should be pretty crazy this year with how down everyone else is.

I agree with ya JE about Moe and Princeton--I think #3-#6 will come down to this week as Mason @ East is big--Mason wraps up #3 with a win and sweep of East for the season--a loss by Mason then I believe St. X moves up to 3rd and then OH and Mason are at #4 and #5 as OH owns a head to head win over the Comets--WH has 14 wins, but has lost to LaSalle and Anderson the past 10 days and overall schedule not as strong as OH.

The plus to #'s 7-20 being a coin flip is that fans will get to see alot of tight early round games in the sectional, which many times doesn't happen until the sectional finals.

Why can't you believe it? I actually can't believe they aren't in the top 5 seeds every year... they should be.

I actually think 3-6 is a crap shoot OH has played a good schedule, but looked terrible vs a bad Fairfield team without their biggest player. They fight hard and are tough as nails, but they are very small. I hear WH looks flat and worn out, as is evident by them losing a double digit lead in the 4th qtr to a bad Anderson team on the road, but they have size and a true go to player. As is generally the case Mason has played the weaker schedule of the 3 and lost at home to a bad Middletown team, but they play very well together as a team. I expect the draw to look like this Sunday. Moe, Princeton, Mason, OH, St X and WH, with East probably at 7 and a surprising WW team at 8.

I see where you're coming from DD, but every year because of good coaching and keeping kids believing you see an 8-10 Anderson beat ECC undefeated WH, or a 5-win Fairfield beat an OH, or a 3 win Middletown beat Mason, or even a 9 win Elder smash St. X by 20 points--a real credit to those coaches at middle of the road teams knocking off the top seeds.

Because they haven't been? "Should" doesn't mean squat if it ain't happening and it wasn't. X Didn't win a single GCL south game in 3 seasons, that's 18 games. Just 2 years ago only won 5 games....TOTAL- for the entire season. Pretty dramatic turnaround so my surprise is not unwarranted.

What has happened at Kings? Always had a solid group. Will the GMC Coaches push the bikes to the number 1 seed? Though there isn’t much of a difference from 1-4 as each can get in their own sectional. Wayne and Springfield will be the top seeds in Dayton. Who else is there to stay away from?

Thanks Buck--OH and Mason both have 14 wins and OH beat Mason head to head, so that's why I have OH #3. Hard to split 3-6 really, but 3 and 4 do get to choose a sectional away from Moe and Princeton.

I agree it's tough to split 'em--both have 3 losses--1 loss each to good local teams in Moe losing to Cov. Cath and Princeton losing to Wayne--they'll likely play each other at the Regional so who is 1 or 2 is not that big.

Its really not a big deal but the block voting by GMC to elevate their teams above their position has been done in the past. This year It is more cut and dry and shouldn't be a lot of wiggle room on sendings.

So, everybody will avoid the brackets of 1 and 2....who do the "other good teams" (after 5) jump on? Oak Hills, Mason or Walnut?

I am surprised that OH gets the #3 but #3-5,6,7 is probably pretty close in #'s. Sometimes it only takes 1 ballot to change the tide. Didn't the Wilmington coach get very critical of Anderson coach a couple years ago?

Case for Oak Hills is that they beat Mason, East, WW, LaSalle, Hamilton & Elder. Case can be made against as well. You are right...As you have been saying all season...after the top 2 it's a crap shoot.

Looking at ECC scores...not sure Walnut is as good as advertised. They are either over rated or bored with their league competition.

3.OH--814 pts
4.Mason--811 pts
5.Walnut--761 pts
6.East--760 pts
7.St. X--743 pts

Obviously very close on the 3/4 spots and the 5/6 spots---as I said yesterday I felt OH ahead of Mason due to winning at Mason and both teams with 14 wins. I see 5,6,7 hard to split--if the St. X win over Walnut on Saturday didn't happen after the voting closed, then St. X could've gotten some help in moving up to 5th maybe.

I think the seeding this year was very accurate overall--will be interesting once Moe and Princeton choose their sectionals where the 3-7 teams go together and at what # does someone choose Moeller's or Princeton's sectional.
