I was at the Charlotte game on Saturday. It is time to blow this thing up and officially tank for the #1 pick.

No defense at all, no threat of a inside defensive presence, no rebounding. Sexton looked lost. No one can penetrate and get their own shot or set up teammates.

I was joking with my son that last time Lebron left, the Cavs won 19 games the next season. After watching that mess on Saturday, I do not think this team can do much better.

Shocking to no one, the Cavs as an organization is a sh*t show in the post LeBron era (again). I just don't understand how they can be this mismanaged year in and year out, no matter who is at the helm. Which tells me it all boils down to one person, Dan Gilbert.

I've been in favor of tanking from the moment LeBron announced he would sign with L.A. Unfortunately, Dan Gilbert is hellbent on proving he can win without LeBron. We'll see if he changes his tune.

Unfortunately for Cleveland, with the new lottery rules, even with worst record they'd have only 14 percent chance to land top pick

You’d see mass tanking out there in a year like this or whenever there looks to be a transcendent player at the top. They changed it up to avoid that and I can’t fault them for it

After hearing excerpts of Lebron's interview with Joe Vardon of The Athletic, I'm of the firm belief that the Cavs will never be successful again as long as Gilbert owns this franchise.

Could you post some of those excerpts or paraphrase as best as you can? Even without knowing, I would agree.

They were talking about it on the radio this morning. Vardon asked him the one question that nobody had asked "why did you leave Cleveland this time when you said you were staying all along (which he did in numerous interviews)?"

Lebron didn't directly answer it but said "the writing was on the wall that this (potential championship runs) was over when Kyrie was traded."

LBJ & Lue were both in LA when the word came down that KI was being traded. Lue contacted LBJ to let him know and LBJ called Koby Altman and told him "don't do it....don't trade Kyrie."

LBJ gave Altman a pass on this and alluded to the fact that it was Gilbert's decision alone to do this.

He also mentioned that once Dave Griffin left that he (LBJ) didn't have anyone in the building to confide in/bounce things off of. When Griff was there he would contact LBJ to get his input/thoughts on trades and that all disappeared when Altman took over because Gilbert was essentially playing "Jerry Jones."(not Lebron's words)

Apparently, Griffin was waiting to get resigned as the GM and was then going to trade Kyrie himself, except it would've been for Paul George instead of the sack of peanuts they got for him from Boston.

My take on the whole thing, when it happened, was that once Gilbert's ego wouldn't bring David Griffin back, I knew the franchise was f#cked. Griffin was the buffer between LBJ & Kyrie that kept that glue together.

As long as Gilbert's playing armchair GM, this franchise is going to continue to suck. I don't get the impression that LBJ was wanting to leave but the moves by Gilbert pretty much forced his hand.

Kyrie didn't think LBJ was coming back so he demanded the trade. He didn't want stuck with that crappy roster. Now granted, I don't think that Lebron is without sin because some of these pieces (role players, no impact guys) LBJ gave his blessing on. Plus, he got his boys JR & Tristan WAY overpaid and their contracts are almost immovable.

Thanks for the info, BR. The bit about Kyrie wanting out because he thought LBJ was leaving is new info and shocking, at least for me. Can't believe Kyrie didn't just say "hey, you leaving?" Funny they both left, mostly, because they thought the other was out.

I am not shocked, however, about anything regarding Gilbert. Awful owner and if not for LeBron being born 40 minutes away in Akron, would have a Kings like franchise on his hands. Can't get out of his own way. Hopefully he realizes this sooner than later.

One of the radio guys, who covered the Cavs while LBJ was here, said that the relationship with LBJ & Kyrie was beyond repair. Kyrie kind of had LBJ thrust upon him when LBJ returned. KI thought he was going to be the face of the franchise and then LBJ comes back and treats him like his "little brother", which didn't sit well with KI.

Either way, David Griffin or Koby Altman, I still think KI gets dealt, except it would've been for much better pieces with Griffin.

My girlfriend and I frequent a lot of casinos and I won't give Gilbert's establishments a dime of my money anymore, seeing what he's turned this into. His ego will run this franchise into the ground.

Yeah, seeing a young lady wearing a prom dress while her boyfriend sports the overalls & wifebeater with work boots on never gets old. Better yet, go over to the Meadows in Washington, PA. Those people are stuck in the 80's with their big hair & mullets.

I'm continually amused by fans. The Cleveland Cavaliers have had, over the last 15 years, the best run of success in franchise history. The Cavs lost their two best players the last two years, the holdovers are hurt (Love) or not playing (Smith/ Korver) and fans are complaining??? What did you think would happen??

And I'm always amused with the handling of LeBron by fans. Many fans have absolutely no problem with him leaving last season for LA, after he ripped your hearts out before and left in his prime. The narrative has always been, but he's won 3 titles, one in Cleveland. My response is, imagine how many he could have won if he was more open to coaching? He's proven over his career that he simply is a very, very difficult teammate. Imagine if he had the same synergy the old Bulls teams had or the current Warriors? Everything has to be his way, or he gets coaches fired.

Hope the fans are merciless when it comes to booing him on his return.

Some pundits say the crowd will be nice because he did come back and won a title before leaving again.

That is like applauding and appreciating your ex wife after she divorces you for a few years, comes back and gives it to you good for awhile, and then divorces and breaks your heart again.

Should you just be happy she came back for a bit?

Nah.

If the fans want to be angry at someone, Gilbert would be a better target than Lebron.
